So if you like FLCL, find/watch Diebuster (also known as Gunbuster 2).

It's FLCL in space.

[Full] DieBuster AMV - Metamorphosis (Thanks For 1100+ Subs! :D)

Hit gold cap few months ago.... sooooo bored.
Just once?

I've spent at least 3.5m since Cataclysm launched.  O.o

Totally agreeing with the boring bit.

Talking of Steins;Gate.

√Bestamvsofalltime ▪ Magic Eye AMV

I'm a bit more mellow about Guilty Crown than I was while it was airing, I don't think it's one I'll be buying or rewatch exactly. It was good, though.

Also had someone talk me into watching Puella Magi Madoka Magica, which completely blew me away.

Kind of a bummer how long you have to wait after a series is over for the truly incredible AMVs to start appearing.

This one's probably the second best for Guilty Crown I've seen so far (there's a spoiler or two, you're warned).

First best being the one I posted on page two, which is spoiler-free past the first episode.

Eregion2, you should come to Agamaggan in MoP. We only had 1 rogue in our 25m and then the legendary daggers have been wasted ever since. We switched to 10 till MoP, then we're going back to 25 man.

Let me know if you're interested. I'm sure I could work something out. Raid times are Mon-Wed 5-9pm pst.

PS. Finally got the mace off Heroic Deathwing yayyyyyyy
I can't raid on Wednesday, unfortunately. That's 99% of my problem.  :X

It's worked out though, Matt/Multikill529 is back from Afghanistan (for anyone who remembers him) and he's started a 10-man with a few people he's gotten to know over the years. The raid resumes are pretty impressive, few H:8/8's and the GM has been in some really high level guilds before. Just getting people geared out now and working on a few heroics.

Finding a decent guild who actually needed a rogue in T13: YES!

Getting there and finding out they raid at 9PM pacific, not EST: FUCK MY LIFE!

It's basically everywhere on the internet, so you'll find it somewhere.

It was really good, although the quality was pretty poor. Can't wait to see it in proper HD in a month.

Republic City basically being 1920s New York City was a very interesting setting.

The Statue of Liberty is now a giant statue of Aang!  :woeh:

So I randomly found a manga the other night, and ended up reading all 14 volumes in one sitting.

Anxiously waiting for volume 15 to be scanlated.

It's called Kokou no Hito, "An Isolated Man." It's about an intensely solitary high schooler who takes up mountain climbing after another student dares him to climb the side of the school building. As far as the manga goes, that was about 20 years ago. Almost immediately the story is intensely tragic, with several main characters dying in mountaineering accidents throughout the course of the manga.

And most of the people who survive are... well, dicks. Especially his old classmates.

The main character, Mori Buntarou, eventually makes a name for himself by becoming an accomplished solo mountain climber.

While it's all highly dramatized (think House M.D. compared to your average doctor), this series is also intensely no-bullshit. And the vistas are stunning.

I don't know if anyone involved in the series is an actual mountain climber, but they've obviously done an incredible amount of work researching it.

It reminds me a lot of Monster, and other very no-nonsense, psychologically-driven mangas. I'm pretty sure volume 15 is going to be the last one, and I'm petrified because I'm afraid they're going to kill Mori while he's climbing K2 (even in reality, K2 has a vicious mortality rate: 1 reported death on average for every 4 climbers who successfully reach the summit; it's the second highest, and second deadliest, mountain in the world behind Mount Everest and Annapurna, respectively). I don't want to drop any more spoilers, but it's an incredible story and I highly recommend it.

It's not all about the climbing, either. The stories involving his old classmates, and the woman he falls in love with, are beautifully done.

... and incredibly heartrending, at times.

If it gets a legitimate English translation it'll easily be one of the handful of mangas I've actually purchased.

Buying H:8/8 this week.

If for no other reason than to remind myself no matter how awesome I might rock the meters on normal, I'm really only at the pinnacle of a very tiny pile of dung.  :S

I hope I actually find a guild that does progression in T14, I keep getting suckered by guilds that look great and then don't do shit.

Ah well, fun stuff to kill spring break on I guess.

I had a single thought while watching Guilty Crown: Rebirth (Atonement):

FUCKING YES!

Slightly predictable and somewhat contrived, but still an epic step leading towards the finale.

I really like the anime, I forget the name, where there is that one plucky good-looking hero who never gives up despite everyone's misgivings of him. He's surrounded by a bevy of beautiful women who inevitably fall in love with him when he does some selfless act of service (because it only takes one). Of course, he is completely oblivious to it all and continues doing his thing, which leads to many comical situations. There won't be any real plot in this anime, but the blatant fan service and appeal to the male demographic will drive it forward.

Or that one anime where there is a random schoolgirl that for some arbitrary reason has magical powers that transports her to a magical/alternate realm where she will meet a native guy that is not only really hot, but willing to risk everything to defend a girl he just met (thinking with the wrong head, mayhaps?). She will start out weak, but thanks to some random gimmick (can tell the future, make awesome sandwiches, awakens hiddens powers etc), she will come into her own and discover a bit about herself. Would-be viewers will draw inevitable parallels and will be invigorated to improve themselves as well; this will last as long as it takes for them to leave the gym they just joined on whim.

Or wait...what about the one with giant robots where the plucky headstrong hero yells his attacks a lot? I love that one!

Or wait...what about that one where the plucky headstrong hero yells his attacks a lot? That one is pretty cool too. I really like how all his allies stand around waiting for a 1v1 each encounter...fate of the world be damned. Also it takes like ten episodes until he decides to fight all out/be inspired by tragic loss/flashbacks to occur...

Yum.

Forgot [C] The Money of Soul and Possibility Control. Completely weird, but strangely compelling anime.

Liked it a lot. The basics are that there's a sort of game under each country's economy. Players cash in their "future" and it's translated into game money, which can also be used in the real world. Your future also manifests as a creature you use to battle against others in the game. The entire system is monetarily based, you invest during a battle by authorizing your creature (pretty loose term, since most are humanoid-ish and completely sentient) to use attacks.

But there's a catch. Losses in the game hit you in reality, by changing reality.

Sure you'll have less money, since you lost. But you're not just gambling with your money, but your future, dated from when you started playing the game. You could leave a loss to find out you never had the job you had the day before, or you were never married even though you just celebrated your 10th anniversary. Or your children might simply... disappear from your life, completely unremembered by anyone else but you.

And if the game gets too unbalanced... the damage becomes more than personal. Entire countries could be wiped out like they never existed, or the contagion could spread to games underpinning foreign economies, whirlpooling them into the destruction. It's a fascinating, albeit heavy-handed, concept that'd aimed pretty squarely at how much our reality is so completely dependent on such an arbitrarity as money.

Neat characters and engaging battles with a curious plot and a fascinating, utilitarian villain. The ending is a massive cliffhanger, though.

It'll give you goosebumps after what's been happening in Europe.  -.^

When I'm watching Naruto, there is no time to watch anything different. I've been syced for each weeks new ep since 2 months ago when the filler stopped and the epic began.
I honestly teared up a little when Naruto met his Mom.  :'(

There are things I don't like about the series, but after following it for years... guess I've gotten more than just a little bit attached to it.

Anyway, I've forgotten my AnimeList password, and I have no idea how to recover it, so I'll be doing this the old fashioned way.  :wtf:

Air Gear
Bakemonogatari
Bakuman
Basilisk

Black Lagoon

Rozen Maiden
Rurouni Kenshin: Tsuiokuhen
Samurai Champloo
Serial Experiments Lain
Soul Eater
Tenjou Tenge
Texhnolyze
Trinity Blood
Wolf's Rain

That'll do for my top 50.

I'm a bit obsessed with Guilty Crown right now, it's fantastic how they spent most of the first half of the season meticulously setting up tons of classic anime tropes just to blow them up in your face; it's like no episode can end on a happy note, ever. They're also actually putting the main character through some incredibly harsh character development. Like, personality-altering. He started as Shinji, then became Luke Skywalker, then Darth Vader, then King Lear, and now... perhaps he just became one of the most awe-inspiring male lead heroes of any anime ever? He definitely had a keen look in his eye at the end of episode 18 after...
...he got over having his arm cut off and all his powers stolen by the man he once idolized as being the perfect leader.
Bit of a teaser, all the clips are from the first episode so it's not much of a spoiler.

[EVS] Lessons Learned ..
Also loving every second of Nisemonogatari, even went back and rewatched Bakemonogatari. Thrilled that Kizumonogatari is getting a movie.

Nisemonogatari - 'Courage'
... if you can survive all the loli...

Nisemonogatari Episode 4 - Araragi & Shinobu Bath Clip
I think this is technically a harem anime, although he's only going out with one of them.

Might add some manga later.  ;)

So, crappy class schedule, haven't made a guild raid in like two months, been killing time with a relatively
decent weekend pug group and whatnot. I'm also one achievement away from Glory of the Cataclysm Raider,
finding people to do that stuff is ridiculous on this server. But yeah, just Double Dragon left before I can get
my Drake of the East Wind, and then I go and win the roll off on this fucking thing.

How am I supposed to ride two mounts at once now. What the hell Blizzard.
