RS3 INTRODUCTION: Cleansheets

My RuneScape Name: Cleansheets
My Previous RSNs: Mr.Magorium
MEGAGAYSON
WhySoSirius

Interested in PvP: No
My Stats:

About my RuneScape Account and History: Cleansheets was chosen as I thoroughly enjoy the feeling of fresh, clean sheets.

I started playing runescape in 2004 with friends. I joined WG in August 2008 as a friend was a past member. I've been on and off with Runescape (and thus WG) for several years.

My past/current clans/teams are: WG only pretty much

I last left WG when it was heavily invested in WG 07 and I was interested in joining an Australian based clan. However it soon appeared I really just wasn't interested in Runescape as much anymore. Big mistake leaving WG CC for some aussie CC that had no real community.

About me: Josh. 23 (as of yesterday!), Australia. Hobbies include computer games  and shit attempts at fitness. I have a strong love hate relationship with League of Legends. I've just started my Masters in Teaching (Secondary) and have previously complete a Bachelor in Biomedical Science. I took a year off studying in 2014 to work and earn money for travelling. By the time I had enough money to travel I was starting uni *sigh*. My next break is...  once I complete my degree so looks like that money is going to earn some serious interest haha.

I heard about WG through: Jayson
I want to join because: Community

Regarding the IRC, I am: Registered (mIRC or other client user)
Regarding TeamSpeak 3, I have: Installed

Regarding future events which may impact my activity: University, timezone.

72k players, most I've seen in a long time.

Do you believe that jagex XP rates are too low and this is why everyone is capitalising on 2x XP weekend?
or
People are doing it to save cash as supplies cost only 1.5x the usual for 2x the experience.

What are your thoughts on the impact of double exp weekends

Blogs / Josh grinds for devotion!
February 18, 2014, 05:24:42 PM
I missed world event 2 as I only just restarted from a 8 month break. Because of this break I missed my chance to get all the cool abilities that were obtainable.

My goal is to killl Bandos general and Armadyl enough times to get these abilities so I can do higher end PvM, eventually solo Nex etc.

Abilities unlocked:

Sacrifice [ ]
Devotion [ ]
Transfigure [ ]

Loot and total Kill count (not including intital 40kc):

Bandos ~2290

Armadyl: ~1160
Loot:

19/2

18/2
GEAR
Tetsu helm, body, legs. Pneumatic Gloves. Bandos boots. Drygores. Warrior ring. Saradomins Whisper. Skillcape. Sign of life.

Pernix cowl, body, legs, gloves. Berserker ring. Glaivan boots. Saradomin's murmur. Royal Crossbow. Royal bolts. Ava's device. Sign of life.
Achievements / Lots!
February 08, 2014, 06:41:01 AM
It's not much but I thought it was cool, my tracker finally hit "Lots" which isn't a big deal, however check my total XP!

When the experience on the counter reaches over 214,748,364.7 experience, the counter will display the word "Lots!".

Was on Reddit, saw this, have a read, it could help you out.

So with the recent changes to magic I decided to run some trials to see which spell I ought to be using. I tested these spells on the combat academy training dummies, and looked at damage numbers of Combust as well as critical damage ranges with Concentrated Blast. What I found is rather baffling.

First up were the Surges. Since these are all above level 80, I expected the damage of each to be reduced to level 80 (due to my Virtus Wand/Book) They were all reduced to the same number, but oddly they do less than the Wave spells. (266 bleed damage with combust, middle-1300's criticals on average with concentrated blast)

Even stranger, the damage scaling with Waves was the opposite of what one might expect. Air Wave (283 Combust, mid-1400's crit average) did both more bleed damage and had higher criticals than Water Wave, Water hit harder than Earth, and so on.
Lower tier spells seemed to scale normally.
I repeated the trials with a Grifolic Wand/Orb, and experienced the same results, just with the tier shifted down one. (Waves were overreduced, Blast spell damage was reversed, etc)
So it seems that:

1) Spells above your weapon's level are overnerfed, so don't use them.
2) Spells of the tier just below your weapon are backwards, so use the closest air spell below your weapon to maximize damage output.

Keep in mind that this is only with the standard spellbook using wands/book combos. If anyone has a chaotic staff and would be willing to test this, or would like to test ancients, that'd be great.

Part 2:

Virtus adds 15 damage to a staff, and 23 damage to wand/book of equal tier. Sheet #2 shows that damage across spellbooks is not consistent and that there is a spike near level 60.
It's pretty clear whoever was in charge of rebalancing magic damage didn't even look at their formula.

Edit2:For Comparison:

Melee level 80 gear hits 270-273 with dismember, minimum. [Claws/Maul]
Range hits 260 with frag shot using Royal/CCBs with royal or asc bolts
Using full Virtus wand/book, combust minimums:

- All surges/barrages: 289
- Air wave: 306
- Earth Wave: 298
- Fire Wave: 294
- Blood/Ice Blitz: 289
- Rock Blitz: 293
- Gale Blitz: 295
- With CS/Virtus:

- All Surges/Waves/Barrages/Blitzes hit 281
- 268 Air burst (level 62)
- 272 Rock burst (level 64)
- 279 Blood burst (level 68)

- 281 Ice burst (level 70)

Why is damage capped at 70 for level 80 weapons, Jagex?

RuneScape Discussion / Level 90 gear
September 11, 2013, 04:57:23 AM
So I was just looking around and it came to me. Dont you think it's stupid there is only one choice for level 90 armour per style? Why can't there be multiple items that are all lvl 90. In level 85 defence we have 3 different gear items; Vanguard, battle mage, tetsu. Yet for magic armour all we have is tectonic @ level 90. Why does jagex allow ONE set of armour to dominate a specific field?

Hey, I hate this sub-forum.

Here is a simple guide on how to block it from ever showing up in your "Unread".

Noobs.

With all these shinanigens happening with PRISM and the NSA, google feeds them whatever they need. Mozilla is taking a big pro-privacy stance. I'm making the switch over.

Side note- Since bing and google feed NSA what I search what is an alternative search engine?
