I have both, 3ds and PSV, and if Ps vita is better because of the graphics, think again.

3Ds surpasses Vita in apps, gaming, the hold, etc.

Vitas touch screen is laggy, and it freezes to much, where as compared to graphics, I'd say Resident evil Revelations on the 3DS isn't much different in graphics compared to the vita.

Vita is good, but I wouldn't prefer it, I think 3DS is the best handheld gaming on the market.

I have a 3DS and a PSV as well, by far the colors, and the graphics on the Vita surpass the 3DS. I don't know what games you were playing, but I have Blazblue, F1, Army Corps of Hell, Dungeon Hunter and Little Deviants (Waiting on Mortal Kombat, and Disgaea 3) and the colors are beautiful. On the 3DS I have about five, or six games. They really don't compare to each other when it comes down to graphics.

Acorse the 3DS is beating the Vita when it comes down to games.. It's backwards compatable, and it's been out since Jun 2011. They've almost had a full year to develop it.
I don't know what you mean by the touch screen being laggy, I haven't experienced it, and I've almost beat all the Little Deviant stages to silver.

If Sony hadn't have released the Vita with half it's features, I would have liked it a lot more. We have no facebook app, no Skype support. There is no playlist support for the music. It's rather irritating. They recently came out with a Sony Music or something like that, that you can make playlists on, but I haven't fucked around with it.

Holding it takes some getting used to because it's so thin. I wish there was some type of indent between the holds, and the back touch screen. While playing Deviants, I would accidently tap the screen or not know where exactly my fingers were tapping. That made some of the games a lot more difficult.

I heard it has some crazy doublesided touchscreen shit that you touch underneath at the same time?!

Yeah man, it does. There is this minigame, where you litterally have to pinch the vita, and use the back, and front screen. It's pretty nifty shit.

Well, for me, where I'm constantly pulling shifts in a trailer, or waiting in my car for a formation. The PSV, hopefully, will fulfill my entertainment needs.

Wow.. I'm pretty shocked that no one even has an opinion on the PSV. I guess the world is moving on from dedicated gaming devices..

Gaming / Playstation Vita

I'm a huge fan of portable gaming, some of my fondest gaming memories are on Pokemon, and Super Mario Land 2 for the Game Boy. So, when I heard last year that Sony was coming out with a new portable, I knew I was going to buy it. I've had 5 PSP's, each one either stolen/taken/lost. One was very convincingly taken by a stripper in Charlotte, but that is a story for another time.

Being that I pre-ordered the system on Amazon in January, I've been keeping up to date on what's going on with the system itself. The system itself seems pretty solid, from the many comments and opinions I've read. But, there are a lot of things about the system I don't like.

The rumor about the content manager is true, your computer HAS to be connected to the internet for you to be able to transfer files from your PC/MAC to your Vita. There IS information sent back to Sony about what the file are that you send to your Vita. If they're is an update to your Vita, you HAVE to update it immediately, you will not be able to transfer files to your Vita unless you do.

This in itself pissed me off, if I want to put some music on my Vita, or swap games (you can back up games to your computer with the Vita) while I'm out here, I have to find an internet hotspot. That in itself is a major pain in the ass. Say I loose internet out here, like we have a black out, I'm fucked? My Vita has now become an expensive paperweight.

Since those two paragraphs are cons, I'll write something about the Vita I do like. I love the fact that I'm now able to swap games off of my Memory Card on my PSV to my Computer to save space, and just so I don't have to carry a bunch of cartridges around. I think this is a step forward on making portable gaming more portable.

I hate that Sony has once again released a GREAT system, but restricted so much. I wish I didn't have to hack my system to be able to use emulators, and play homebrews. Wagic is a great homebrew btw... I wish Sony would allow a system where they could review a game, or an app, and put on there network. Kind of the way Apple does with Apps. Sony has a very narrow vision when it comes to there systems, and it does not include the US in it at all. Were just dollar signs to them, and they ignore us.

The games are, for the most part, very well priced. I have purchased five launch games for the Vita, F1 (Probably a mistake), Dungeon Hunter Alliance (Definately a mistake, didn't know it was a 99 cent port off of the iphone with barely a new feature), BlazBlue: Continuum Shift EXTEND (I have high hopes for this), Army Corps of Hell (Looks very promising), and Little Deviants (which I read makes great use of the Vita features in a fun, but childish, way).

I hope to hear WG's opinion about this system, I will keep tabs on this article and post on it if anything interesting for the PSV comes up...

Btw, they already have HBL working for the PSV.. SCORE!!

You and me both man, the bad thing is, I'll still be in Kuwait when it's released. So fuck me right?? I bought the mousepad, and the Book of Cain, and eventually the headset and mouse. Speaking of the book, I'll be damned if I wasn't right 11 years ago, fucking Belial and Azmodan are going to fucking up some shit.

I still miss RS though, I can't wait to get back to the states so I can play both.

lol... I read the title and thought to myself "Bad ideas begin here".

I work for the government maintaining communications, providing network security, and detecting system vulnerabilities. While a long password is great, having them all lowercase letters defeats the purpose. Passwords with all lowercase letters are generally tried first. The best combination is a long password with lower case, upper case, symbols, and numbers.

Thanks for the link man. That was semi-inspirational.. This sets a horrible premise for censorship of the net. Any website can be taken down just because it claims it has copyrighted material.. Wow.. and to think I'm the one who helped him with his nick.. I've actually had discussions with Death Outlaw, and he seemed pretty legit.

Btw, I barely know any of the new WG that are around right now, and I'm not scamming anyone. Just because WG forms little cliches within itself, is not an excuse. You're blaming the society you choose to be in for your own actions. Take some personal responsibility.

Media and Comedy / Re: Anime
January 14, 2012, 03:26:55 AM
I just finished watching Rosario + Vampire... If you ignore the over abundance of fan service, (it gets horribly bad in the second season) it was strangely endearing in a way. I still hear the dialogue of "Moka-San, Tsukune, Moka-San, Tsukune" in my head. It had a really catchy intro for the second season. Kind of disco meets trance..

I'm currently watching/downloading Fairy Tale, that I was told by another soldier was an amazing anime. I'm about 15 episodes into it, and it's ok. I can't say I'm overly impressed. The characters are pretty bland, and the humor really doesn't suit me. . But it's like 120 episodes, and I have nothing better to do with my time...

I've watched so many anime series this deployment. I can't even remember them all..

The biggest thing I can tell you is to make sure you use capital letters, numbers, and symbols in your passwords. Doing that would pretty much null and void brute force hackers..

Obviously you don't know how brute force hackings work.

QuoteIn cryptography, a brute-force attack, or exhaustive key search, is a strategy that can, in theory, be used against any encrypted data.[1] Such an attack might be utilized when it is not possible to take advantage of other weaknesses in an encryption system (if any exist) that would make the task easier. It involves systematically checking all possible keys until the correct key is found. In the worst case, this would involve traversing the entire search space.

The key length used in the encryption determines the practical feasibility of performing a brute-force attack, with longer keys exponentially more difficult to crack than shorter ones. Brute-force attacks can be made less effective by obfuscating the data to be encoded, something that makes it more difficult for an attacker to recognise when he/she has cracked the code. One of the measures of the strength of an encryption system is how long it would theoretically take an attacker to mount a successful brute-force attack against it.

Brute-force attacks are an application of brute-force search, the general problem-solving technique of enumerating all candidates and checking each one.

So next time, be a dick to someone else that is trying to help you.

I'm quite impressed with a lot of these run times. The army standard for running a two mile is 15:54 for 21 and younger males. And it seems like a good portion of people that posted pass this test.

I have a question about running in general. I'm in the army, so I run pretty much every day. I run for about two to three miles at a decent pace of about eight minutes apiece. When I run I get this horrible pain the back of my calves, even when I give it a couple of days break.. I make sure to stretch them out as best as possible before I run, and I also try to drink two liters of water and a gaterade (cause the heat in Iraq), but they still end up hurting.

What can I do to stop this? It actually distracts me and makes me run at a slower pace on my PT tests.

Those signatures are pretty sweet Sam, I like the one for the Warlord that you did. You don't have to worry about them being free for me. I'll pay you for any signatures that you make me, for sure.

I'm glad your sticking around for abit, and you're getting back into the game. I hope to see you around for awhile.
