What is there to discuss: Same choked game with better graphics?

Thoughts go out to the victims and their families.

The culprits, according the Obama will feel the "full weight of justice"

Justice in some of these medieval countries still follow the 'eye for an eye' principle. Not something I agree with, but regardless of race, religion, political differences etc I cannot comprehend a reason why people feel it is acceptable to inflict so much pain, both physically and emotionally.

Offers salvation for Africa, however in nations where it is not yet a necessity this will not happen. As a race we only acknowledge a problem when it is glaring right back at us.

I am a bit skeptical though; it restores grasslands but applying the concept to produce mass crops introduces additional factors. Sure he speaks about an increased crop yield, but what kind of % increase would be necessary for the natives to live sustainably and support themselves?

Having said that, any sort of increase fertility in the soil has got to be considered a revelation.

Wow, talk about E-Drama

Covertly there always would have been a trial period, the fact the votes fell short of 500k just meant they made it overt.

In my opinion we got the absolutely best possible result. No additional fee, anti-bot technology and only a small team as opposed to dedicate: less likely to screw up the game again.

Pretty much the entire PvP fan base has adopted 07 Scape, that is where the action is shifting and I suspect where it will remain for a healthy period.

RuneScape Discussion / Re: 2007 Servers - My Movie
February 21, 2013, 10:46:07 PM
A few days ago I had an unusual urge to put Call of Duty 4 in my 360 disc tray. I popped out of the room for a bit and returned to see the credits had rolled and the trailer running. It really hit me at that point how the game series has depreciated over the past 5 years. The campaign exerted with passion, an uncharacteristic cynical story which was genuinely absorbing, it was faultless. While the multiplayer accompanied it with a balanced and compelling challenge with variety.

Had CoD 4 been released next fall, I suspect it would still be very well received and held in higher regard than the subsequent 4 games which have followed it.

Runescape can relate (the two games actually correlate between the relevant releases) we have seen a well respected browser based MMORG become heavily criticised by both the current and previous fan base. It is easy to conceive the idea of nostalgia and that we will only think RS 2007 will be better. But maybe it actually was?

The Clan World can thrive with Steel Armour and 300 Level 50 opts facing of for victory; in the Wilderness which will prosper regardless. In October 2007 I achieved 99 Agility, will I do it again? Absolutely not, can I still enjoy RS 2007? It would be wrong to judge before logging into it again, but I am excited for it and I suspect I will find a brighter, productive and more enjoyable use of time on it than I currently do on RS 2013.

Caught some of your video while at work, will watch it fully through a bit later. But this is my current opinion.

As someone who has stood by F2P PvP since 2005, I would say now is the time to ditch it and focus on P2P. Jagex have offered too much incentives to become P2P and consequently means there will never be fresh meat entering the F2P scene.

Since the release of EOC, a lot of you seem to have forgot or chose to ignore the promised Wilderness update:

QuoteIn the fourth live Q&A session, it was mentioned that there will be updates to the Wilderness to try and get more skillers into the wilderness, such as better resources. It was specifically mentioned that there would be an improvement on the agility return from the Wilderness Agility Course.

With two new upcoming skills it is plausible Jagex could make the Wilderness offer big rewards again. Sure it would be under the light of EOC, but it was the chaos of activity which initially made the Wilderness enjoyable.

Nevertheless, I will of course vote, but don't give up completely on 2013.

I was so excited when Vephyrus told me, then I read the forum in full...

I have to agree with Gene.
I'd rather they change content of the game that is not clan friendly then to go back the way it is offered to us.

Who wants to grind all the hours over again and give up all the friends they play with now?
Ohh yeah you can chat to them, but it won't be the same without the clan chats to share.
Socially this update doesn't seem like it will work out well.

Projected backup date is August 10th, 4 days after the initial Clan Chat was released. A bit of a happy coincidence I guess.

I likewise would not begin grinding out skills again, but there is a 1 or 2 months for the community to push for an alternative. Quite frankly the updates over the past 5 years have made obtaining resources and exp significantly faster and easier than in 2007, so effectively merging the servers together so resources/stats can be transferred shouldn't really have any negative effects.

2007 died first I'm pretty sure.

2007 didn't die, it was removed...

Humberto is caught up with school and stuff so hasn't been around much. And yeah Mexi.

@Kim Jong-il, the same reason why I was also idling in #cpa, #unbeatable, #cr and #tds.

Liking your own post?

Insta-decline.

Becoming disappointed by the lack of dislike button for your unproductive +1 post.

And yeah MeXi, guess it is fairly global, pleased to meet you and thanks.

Reminds me a bit of when I demanded cheaper Membership when I began playing again last summer:

It was only as a bit of a joke, felt a bit guilty with how I 'expressed' my demand so I went on RSB to compliment Mod Frost.  ^.^

About You and Your Account
I'm applying to the Wilderness Guardians clan

1. What is your current Runescape username, and what are your past usernames if any?
Rick Ak

2. Tell us about your RuneScape account and history (e.g. when you started, what your RSN means, favourite activities etc.):

My entire account history is irrelevant after Jagex made the bold decision to negate every piece of content I would once associate with Runescape.

However I do not intend to cast an even darker shadow over the game, so I began playing in 2004ish, joined my first clan (Certified Public Assassins) in early 2005, we closed late 2009 and I was recently a part of The Dark Syndicate with a few others here.

3. Tell us about yourself (Name (if you are comfortable), gender, age, country, hobbies, music, talents, likes and dislikes):

Well I am laying on my bed right now, pretty cosy if you ask me, and on that note my name is Richard. I am 21 and from Southern UK. Enjoy most  sports, go-karting, gaming and stuff. Listen to just about everything, but tend to edge towards alternate/rock scene. I recently quit University, and deliver pizzas for Domino's. Willing take all suggestions for a new career direction.

4. How did you hear about us and what makes you want to join WG or DG? Also, which of these two clans are you applying for?

I heard of WG waaaaay back, fingers and thumbs on both hands type thing. I am not going to lie though, I thought the clan world was effectively shown and pushed out the door, but Dratz whom I was in TDS with, remains strong hearted with WG, and while I am sceptical to say the least in regards to the PvP scene, it will be cool to engage in a community again.

Your PvP Experience

5. What Multi-combat PvP Experience do you have? Be sure to mention any recent or past F2P or P2P PvP Clans you have been in.
Well, I warred for the past 7 years or so, though somewhat inconsistently of recent. Furthermore I stand by my ability to sporadically spam abilities in order to equate for the recent EoC update.

6. Our warring times are usually between 4PM EST/9PM GMT and 6PM EST/11PM GMT on weekends, but sometimes weekdays, can you regularly be active at these times?
Sure.

7. Can you stock up on the required gear found as a sticky in the 'Join the Clan' Forums?  Your gear will be checked via trade screen when you are being invited to the CC in game.
Yeah.

8. Do you understand that all PvP Events are Mandatory if you are online, and that you face removal from the clan should you blatantly skip these events?
Comprende.

Your Activity and Availability

9. Do you agree to check WG Forums daily and be on IRC at all times while you are in game, and to be on Teamspeak for all Wars and Raids? (Please note, these are third party programs, but clans have been using them for years and are crucial to our success, as such they ARE a requirement.  Further details can be provided on request.)
I can absolutely do that.

10. Is there anything in the near future that may impact your activity or ability to attend events?
I suspect not.

1. What is your current Runescape username, and what are your past usernames if any?
Rick Ak, been Mr Rickleson before as well.

2. Tell us about your RuneScape account and history (e.g. when you started, what your RSN means, favourite activities etc.):
I first played a while back, I think around 2004 with some friends from school. My RSN holds similarities to my RL name and my favourite activities involve anything which can be twisted for some laughs. I once pondered around Agility courses thousands of times in order to achieve a 1st page Agility Rank, my highlight. With the game kindda nerfed everything I once did seems silly now.

3. Tell us about yourself (Name (if you are comfortable), gender, age, country, hobbies, music, talents, likes and dislikes):
My name is top secret sorry. I'm Male, 21 years old and living in the UK. Currently at University studying Forensic Computing but likely to drop out. /fail I enjoy most sports, in particular Motorsports, Tennis and Athletics. Fan of the Matchbox 20, Foo Fighters, Fightstar, Brand New, Charlie Simpson and stuff. Plan on learning to play the Guitar myself once I can afford to actually buy one. Also a big fan of the TV Series Supernatural. Other than that 360 and stuffs.

4. How did you hear about us and what makes you want to join WG or DG? Also, which of these two clans are you applying for?
I've been around so long that I'm just kindda aware of all clans. Applying for WG. One of the few clans remaining which appears to have kept the same principles, it's all for fun.

Your PvP Experience

5. What Multi-combat PvP Experience do you have? Be sure to mention any recent or past F2P or P2P PvP Clans you have been in.
Been in or around clans for the past 7+ years. The main one being Certified Public Assassins, but most recently TDS with Dratz.

6. Our warring times are usually between 3PM EST/8PM GMT and 5PM EST/10PM GMT on weekends, but sometimes weekdays, can you regularly be active at these times?
Sure

7. Can you stock up on 10 sets of Full Rune as well as an equal amount of F2P Mage and Range sets? This only applies to applicants of WG.  Your gear will be checked via trade screen when you are being invited to the CC in game. - Please note a comprehensive list of the required items is posted as a sticky in the 'Join the Clan' Forums
Sure

8. Do you understand that all PvP Events are Mandatory if you are online, and that you face removal from the clan should you blatantly skip these events?
Sure

Your Activity and Availability

9. Do you agree to check WG Forums daily and be on IRC at all times while you are in game, and to be on Teamspeak for all Wars and Raids? (Please note, these are third party programs, but clans have been using them for years and are crucial to our success, as such they ARE a requirement.  Further details can be provided on request.)
Sure again, best not be signing my life away!

10. Is there anything in the near future that may impact your activity or ability to attend events?
Not that I am aware of unfortunately.

Getting the TDS daisy chain rolling!
