Topics - His Lordship

Guest Lounge / Transferrals from Old Forums
June 20, 2011, 07:49:37 PM
Hey guys,
This process is really simple. There are just three steps.

1. Read the Rules and Rights topic and make sure you're familiar with it all
2. Post below saying you have understood the rules and wish to transfer your rank over to the new forums
3. Send His Lordship a forum PM or in-game PM (not IRC or Teamspeak), saying that you authorise your account to be transferred (this prevents imposters from taking your account).

Then it's just a matter of waiting until I process you.
Please be aware that your rank is the only thing you'll keep.
I will not transfer your post count, join date, or anything else.

You can spend your wait modifying your profile (click the purple profile button at the top of the forums).
On these forums I am really pushing for members to use their real life pictures as their avatars, to bring some personality to your forum accounts - so that we can see the person behind the pixels. This really does do wonders for the community. If you are too shy to post a picture, I understand and will not force you.

PS - No spamming, and don't do anything too adventurous on this forum until you've read my guide to the forum in the guides forum.
It's the longest post I've ever made, and for good reason. If you play around and make a mistake, well... it won't help things.
For example, negative/positive repping someone does have consequences if not done correctly.

Please read the rules on our new forums: http://www.wildernessguardians.com/forums/
Welcome to the Wilderness Guardians Rules and Requirements topic.
Please make sure you read all of the sections below thoroughly!
Once you have finished reading, you are free to post your introduction.

Remember that this is just a guideline.
You should apply these rules to your time in WG using common sense.

REQUIREMENTS

The requirements below exist to ensure that every member has the skills needed to gain the most from this clan.
You must meet the requirements for at least one version of the game to join.
Note that if you wish to, you may join WG on both OSRS and RS3.

OLD SCHOOL RUNESCAPE

To apply for PvP events as a Main and optionally non-PvP you must have:
100+ Combat with 85+ Magic and 85+ Ranged

To apply for PvP events as a Zerker (40 to 45 defence) and optionally non-PvP you must have:
95+ Combat with 85+ Magic and 85+ Ranged

To apply for non-PvP events only you must have:
1250+ Total Level

If you do not yet have one of these requirements you may find our Training Guide useful.

RUNESCAPE 3

No level requirements; see below for conditional requirements

CONDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS for ALL MEMBERS

1. You must not be a member of another PvP-based clan on any version of RuneScape.
2. Your most recent clan must not be a disreputable clan.
3. You must connect to our Discord server during important events. No download is required.
4. You must be in regular contact with the clan and attend events on a regular but casual basis.
5. You must have fighting equipment ready for use at all times unless applying for a non-PVP rank.

TRANSFERRING between Guardian (PVP) and Guildsman (non-PVP)

If later a non-PVP member (Guildsman) realises they are interested in PVP (or vice versa), they can request a transfer by speaking to any Leader or Advisor, and we will discuss it with you to make sure it's the right decision, and change your rank accordingly.

RULES
• The clan is famous for its integrity and is trusted by Jagex, and we ask your help in keeping our honourable reputation intact.
 • We are particularly strict on botting, real world trading (except bonds) and scamming (including scamming non-clan members). Please do not do any of these things as it can lead to expulsion.
 • In certain rare cases, rule-breaking must be facilitated, specifically in the case where clan members are in fact encouraged to advertise our forums in-game. Due to our healthy relationship with Jagex, encouraging people to find WG externally will not lead to any blemish on your account.

• This means no flaming, spamming or begging. Trolling the forums and excessive negativity are particularly frowned upon.
 • Courtesy must also be shown to non-clan members, INCLUDING clans and individuals who have flamed or baited us.
 • We celebrate equality and diversity, and do not permit racist or homophobic remarks, even in jest.
 • If a person offends you, and you insult them back, you will both be held accountable regardless of who started it.
 • Some members are more sensitive than others; before joking at them, be sure they are comfortable with it
 • If a guest joins our public Discord channel or Clan Chat, please do acknowledge them.
 • Any actions which may cause harm to our name and reputation, especially in public, will not be tolerated.

• Do not publicly talk about sensitive clan information such as event times or material from private forums. The most common public interfaces are #wg_lobby on Discord and wg_cc on RS.
 • You are responsible for your forum, Discord and RuneScape accounts, even when it has been used by someone else. If someone uses your account to spy on WG, you are accountable.
 • Assume private conversations are confidential unless all participants consent to sharing it.
 • Do not invite people to our private events without the agreement of the event's leader.

• Our leaders are very respectful to their members, but please follow their instructions when asked.
 • All non-leader ranks are equal; a higher member rank (eg. Elite Guardian) does not have authority over lower ranks (eg. Initiate Guardian).
 • Eventmasters have authority over Warlords in non-wilderness events, and vice-versa in wilderness events.
 • All decisions are made by the Leaders and advised by the members, and majority does not rule.

• You are not allowed to join other clans while you are a member of WG.
 • Our clan has a broad range of events, including PVM, skilling and social events in addition to our PVP routine, so there is no need to supplement your membership by joining another clan.

• The usual policy of this clan is that you can choose your level of commitment, and attend what you like.
 • There are a few exceptions: If Guardians (PVP members) are in-game when a planned PvP event is happening, you are expected to come and assist WG. Planned means it has been posted on these forums in advance.
 • We expect Guardians (PVP members) to attend a weekly raid (PK trip) unless pre-occupied in real life. We assume that three consecutive absences without notification means you have left the clan.
 • Periods of inactivity are fine, but please post a notification topic so that you are not caught in one of our regular inactivity sweeps.

• As a general rule, it is a good idea to visit the forums daily to check for major announcements. If you cannot afford this time, twice a week is adequate.
 • If you are unable to view the clan's forums twice a week, you should post a topic of inactivity to say so. This inactivity must be short-term (usually no longer than a month).
 • RS3 members may not leave the clan's CC while playing RS3.
 • OSRS members should join "WG_CC" while playing.
 • Do your very best to make a habit of also joining the clan's Discord server when you are playing RuneScape.
CODE OF HONOUR

There is a special subset of rules for our PVP members (Guardians) and how we as a clan behave in the wilderness.
You are also urged (but not required) to follow our code of honour on your own, outside of clan events.
We believe that we must embody the behaviour of the PKing community as we wish to see it.
Furthermore, as a clan we show honour even to those who treat us dishonourably, and we are renowned for our integrity.
• Tensions run high in the wilderness and PKers can be rude, but WG members always speak respectfully and never slander other individuals or clans in the wilderness or on public message boards.
 • This rule tests even the nicest members, so please do not underestimate what we ask of you when everyone else behaves rudely.

• Fights between clans can get easily ruined by crashers. We don't like it happening to our wars, so we would never do it to anybody else.
 • If two clans meet by coincidence, we are able to join in. However, telling the difference between a skirmish and a planned fight is difficult and best left up to the warlords.

• Spies create distrust and hurt a clan's community. It has happened to us and we would not wish it on another clan.
 • There is one exception. If we are being spied on and our events are getting crashed, we will send a "counter-spy" as a last resort to try and weed out our spy.
 • Scouting the wilderness with low-level accounts is not considered spying

• Sometimes new members may accidentally break rules (usually by running out of bounds or bringing a prohibited item), and we are usually lenient with this, but as you accumulate experience you will be expected to strictly honour the rules of the fight. They are there for fairness.
 • If the other clan cheats, we do not cheat back; we continue fighting honourably. If their cheating gives the opponent too big an advantage, we simply walk away from the battle.

• In many situations the outcome of a fight can be determined by a single member, and fleeing a battle is betraying your clan. If we are vastly overpowered, a warlord may call a retreat. Until the retreat is called, assume that we are engaging the opponent.
 • In planned fights, retreats are never permitted as it is usually a fight to the last person standing.

• "Welfare PKers" who wear cheap equipment with high damage (also known as "raggers") are very annoying to encounter in the wilderness, and we do not endorse this behaviour. When we are in the wilderness and another PKer kills us, they should be rewarded for their risk.
 • More importantly, "ragging" makes the clan weaker in battle and our members will die faster. A strong clan is a well-equipped clan.
 • If attacked by "raggers", we usually leave the area promptly as there is little to nothing to be gained from killing them.

• The clan has a very old (13 years) policy of anti-RPKing (ARPK), which means killing only other PKers and leaving everyone else alone. Due to an increase in clan and PKer activity following the OSRS Wilderness rejuvination we have decided to reimplement this policy.
 • The policy was originally implemented to encourage fairness as skillers and PvMers are grossly overpowered by clans, and best left to solo PKers (for the benefit of the "food chain")
 • Occasionally a Raid leader may decide to ignore this rules. Unless explicitly stated please assume that every Raid is ARPK.
 • Outside of events you may kill PvMers/skillers.

• Bringing down a player in the wilderness is usually a team effort, and we expect you to divide your kill according to what you think is fair.
 • You may keep all the loot if you wish, but remember that this will make people reluctant to share their kills with you in the future. Our clan operates best when we share.
 • We very strongly suggest that if everyone were to get 1m or more from a kill split that you split it between the clan, giving more to the TBer than others.
MEMBER RIGHTS

You have certain rights that nobody can take away from you.
Despite the rules mentioned above, there are things that a leader cannot restrict.
You will have these rights at all times.
• If you don't like what the leaders are doing, you will never be punished for saying so. We will not show bias against you on a professional level if you speak out, as long as you are polite. If you flame, this breaches our rule about showing courtesy.

• We cannot stop you from leaving, and if you choose to leave, we will remove you from our member list.
 • Once you post a leaving topic, you are given three days to reconsider or follow through. Advisors and Leaders must post two weeks notice before they resign.

• All individual events are optional, with one minor exception: Guardians (PVP members) must attend fights that have been planned more than five days in advance unless you are occupied in real life. If you are occupied in real life, you have to at least post on the sign-up sheet saying so. For shorter preparation fights, you must attend if you are online.
 • You will never be forced to sacrifice your real life commitments for this clan.
 • You may also leave an event at any time. However, you have to have been part of the event for a reasonable amount of time to be counted in attendance.

• WG will never demand you give GP or IRL money.
 • However, you are required to have the appropriate equipment for an event. If you don't have the necessary equipment, you may be excluded from the event

• You may be friends with whoever you wish, including enemies of the clan.
 • However, we ask that you be extremely careful not to leak them any sensitive information.
For further clarification on these rules, please consult a Leader or Advisor, and seek clarification when reviewing your application.

WG Ranks

Staff Ranks

Only held by His Lordship
The Founder of WG is His Lordship and there is no higher authority.
His Lordship assumes this rank when he cannot be active.

Currently vacant.

The Leader is the final decision-maker of the clan. As well as representing the syndicate in its ventures, the leader carries out the major changes and clan functions. His or her main responsibility is to decide the clan's direction to ensure success, and he/she has the final say in all clan matters. A leader may also take part in the duties of other staff members such as the processing of applications, hosting and leadership of events, and so on.

New leaders are hand-picked by the current leadership - though the likelihood of this happening is exceedingly rare due to the long tenure of the current leadership.

Formerly known as Second-in-Command.

The Advisors of the clan serve as assistant leaders. Their main role is to assist the Leader in clan duties such as diplomatic relations (wars and alliances), membership applications and graduations, ranks, and so on. A crucial element of the advisor role is communication with other members, in order to gain a strong awareness of the clan's state (strengths and weaknesses), and to decide on a course of action for growth and improvement.

New advisors are hand-picked by the current leadership, or elected democratically through a voting process.

The Head Warlord is an Advisor rank with the main focus of leading the clan in terms of PvP. The Head Warlord's responsibilities are a combination of the Warlords' and Advisors', more specifically focusing on the wars and raids (organisation and leadership). With the introduction of Advisors and Raidmasters (now Warlords), the rank was removed along with the rest of the Council during The Reckoning in 2011. However, it was reintroduced when Old School RS was released. The position is sometimes vacant.

The Application Manager is in charge of applications. They assist Advisors and Leaders by interviewing new members and processing their application and graduation topics. They also help with other general staff duties such as Forum, IRC and TeamSpeak moderation.

Application Managers are either hand picked or picked through an application process.

Formerly known as Raid Leader and Raidmaster.

The Warlords are in charge of the clan's PvP element, and have a major say in terms of in-game success. They must be well-strengthened and experienced in terms of organising and leading the clan in PvP events such as wars and raids. This involves covering all aspects of a PvP event's organisation: arrrangement, planning and sign-ups (and post-event duties such as the Report and attendance); as well as the actual leadership which involves choosing piles and transitioning, taking fall-ins, calling, and so on. Attributes such as a clear and positive-sounding calling voice and a high combat level are also helpful.

Warlords are generally elected democratically through a voting process, or through self-nomination where nominees are chosen by the staff.

Formerly known as Event Leader.

The Eventmasters are in charge of non-PvP. They have a crucial say in the clan's community element, as they have the responsibility of creating events for the fun and enjoyment of members outside the raiding and warring area. Like Warlords, they share the duties of organising and leading the events in order to ensure their success.

Eventmasters are generally elected democratically through a voting process, or through self-nomination where nominees are chosen by the staff.

The Forum Tech is responsible for the technical side of the clan, in particular the creation, hosting and administration of the forums, IRC (RobbieBot) and TeamSpeak. He/she provides the foundations for the clan to grow on, and also plays a major part in the community aspect of the clan. The current Forum Tech is irreplacable.

PvP Ranks

Elite Guardian is the highest non-staff PvP rank in the clan, and is awarded to those who have shown they are devoted members to WildGuard. Elite Guardians have served loyally for many months and are renowned as members to whom others respect and look up to. They are forum-and event active, with posts to a high-quality standard, a postive and friendly attitude, and overall displaying a positive image for the clan.

Select High Guardians are chosen to be promoted to Elite by the leadership once per month.

Formerly known as Higher Guardian.

High Guardian is the first step up from the normal Guardian rank. It is awarded to members who are helpful, enthusiastic, mature, active and polite. Loyalty to the clan (shown in having remained a member of the clan for a certain amount of time) and participation are very important factors. High Guardians have proven that they can be good role models for other members.

Select Guardians are chosen to be promoted to High by the leadership once per month.

The Guardian rank is the first standard member rank. The Guardian rank shows that a person has met the standards and expectations of a member of WildGuard.

Initiate Guardians receive the rank of Guardian upon successful graduation.

Formerly known as Trial Guardian.

The Initiate stage is the "trial" stage of the clan. Applicants are required to go through initiation to ensure that they will remain an active and dedicated member by working towards a successful graduation. The initiate stage involves attending events, being forum & IRC active, being friendly and mature, and overall showing willingness to join and support the clan.

Non-clan members receive the rank of Initiate Guardian upon successful application.

The Emeritus rank is similar to a retired rank - members who have retired from the game, but wish to remain part of the WG community. Emeriti are mainly relieved from the requirement of attending RuneScape events constantly, while retaining member-class involvement in the clan on the forums, IRC and TeamSpeak. However, the rank is not easily earned - it is reserved for ex-Staff members and a very small number of Elite or High ranks.

Non-PvP Ranks

Elite Guildsman is the non-PvP equivalent to Elite Guardian - the highest and most prestigious rank available to non-staff members. It is achieved through a show of devotion and loyalty, and awared to members whom lower ranks can respect and look up to.

Select High Guildsmen are chosen to be promoted to Elite by the leadership once per month.

High Guildsman is the second non-PvP rank above Guildsman, equivalent to the High Guardian. Members who obtain the rank have shown good levels of helpfulness, enthusiasm, maturity, activity and politeness.

Select Guildsmen are chosen to be promoted to High by the leadership once per month.

Guildsman is the standard non-PvP member rank, equivalent to the Guardian.

Initiate Guildsmen receive the rank of Guildsman upon successful graduation.

The Initiate stage is the "trial" stage of the clan - Initiate Guildsmen are the non-PvP equivalent of Initiate Guardians. The process of graduation involves attending events, being forum & IRC active, being friendly and mature, and overall showing willingness to join and support the clan.

Non-clan members receive the rank of Initiate Guildsman upon successful application.

Non-Clan Ranks

Formerly known as Clan Allies.

Emissaries are diplomatic spokespersons from our allying clans. Their role on WG forums is to ensure the constant strength of our alliances through joint events and involvement in the community, as well as providing status reports to their respective clans. Emissaries are usually staff members of the allying clan(s).

Ex-members are members who have previously retained the rank of Guardian or Guildsman, but have resigned from the clan itself. They have similar forum access to guests, and are free to re-apply at any time. Ex-members can also bypass the respective Initiate stage, if they resigned six or less months ago. Sometimes they are required to graduate again if they join another clan in between.

Clan Friend is the default rank given to all new registered users. Most clans will call this rank "guest" but WG chooses the more friendly and welcoming name of Clan Friend. Initiates are returned to this rank if they leave the clan.

Formerly known as Banned.

Exiled members are those who have been banished from either clan. Exile status involves permenant removal from the forums, IRC, TeamSpeak, association in-game, and from the clan's community in general. This status cannot be revoked except in the rare situation where the leadership has made a mistake. A list of exiled members can be found here.

Deprecated Ranks

Council

The Council was first implemented in 2005, and remained up until The Reckoning in 2011. Over the years, the number of Council members varied, the lowest number being only one, and the peak at seven at once. Generally the Council consisted of one Second-in-Command, one Warlord and the rest standard Council members. The rank was removed during WG.com-SMF transition, and replaced with a single Advisor rank.

Epic Graphics Designer

The Epic Graphics Designer was based around the production of media, specifically in terms of WG signatures and avatars for use on fansites and so. The Designer would also manage the production of awards for ceremonies such as the bi-annual Summer and Winter awards. Winddancir was the only Epic Graphics Designer, and the rank remained unused following her departure during the second WG.com era.

Future Applicant

In distant WG history, a future applicant system was implemented. However, due to complications, the system has been replaced with the Initiate (formerly Trial) stages, and on a larger scale, Descendant Guardians.

Historian

The Historian rank was created in 2010, for the purpose of curating the historical elements of the clan. While mostly based around historical research, the rank did had some definite tasks. These included the creation and management of the clan's Wiki pages, the website's extended history and photo galleries, and forum features such as the "On This Day" script. WG Keanu was the only Historian, and the rank was removed when he took leadership of Descendant Guardians during The Reckoning.

Moderator

The Moderator rank was introduced in very early history, and used up until the second WG.com era. Moderators had the task of simply moderating on the forums and IRC. With the amount of staff compared to clan members, the rank became redundant and was removed in 2008. Moderators at the time became Application Managers.

Sector Leader (Wilderness/Skills/Community)

During the z6 era, the clan split into three different sectors - Wilderness, Skills and Community. Each sector had it's own leader, who organised and managed the sector. Due to disputes between the groups, the program was abolished during the early second WG.com era, and the leader ranks along with it.

Deprecated DG ranks

Upon the closure of DG in 2013 all of the DG ranks are now deprecated:
DG Ranks

Currently held by DG Keanu

The leader of DG shares the role and responsibilities for the WG leader, but for the junior clan. Like the WG leader, it involves the major changes and clan functions and the overall responsibility of directing the clan to ensure success.

New leaders are hand-picked by the current leadership.

The Advisors of DG serves as assistant leaders to the DG leader. They shares the roles of the WG Advisors - diplomatics, applications, graduations, ranks, and communication with members to obtain an overview of the clan and how to improve.

New advisors are hand-picked by the current leadership, or elected democratically through a voting process.

Raid Commander

The Raid Commander is the DG equivalent of a Raidmaster or mistress. They control DG's PvP element - the organisation and leadership of all wars, raids and other PvP events. Strength and experience in leading clans in PvP is neccesary. Attributes such as a clear and positive-sounding calling voice and a high combat level are also helpful.

Raid Commanders are generally elected democratically through a voting process, or through self-nomination where nominees are chosen by the staff.

Event Commander

The Event Commander is the DG equivalent of an Eventmaster or mistress. They control DG's non-PvP (community) element - organisation and leadership of all events outside the wilderness, and catering for the needs of members in terms of fun and enjoyment.

Event Commanders are are generally elected democratically through a voting process, or through self-nomination where nominees are chosen by the staff.

Because the WG and DG forums are integrated, one technician serves as Forum Tech for both syndicates - administrating the forums and organising IRC/TeamSpeak for all members.

Elite Soldier is the DG equivalent to Elite Guardian - the highest and most prestigious rank available to non-staff members. It is achieved through a show of devotion and loyalty, and awared to members whom lower ranks can respect and look up to.

Select High Soldiers are chosen to be promoted to Elite by the leadership once per month.

High Soldier is the second DG rank above Soldier, equivalent to the WG High Guardian. Members who obtain the rank have shown good levels of helpfulness, enthusiasm, maturity, activity and politeness.

Select Soldiers are chosen to be promoted to High by the leadership once per month.

Soldier is the standard DG member rank, equivalent to the WG Guardian.

Initiate Soldiers receive the rank of Soldier upon successful graduation.

The Initiate stage is the "trial" stage of the clan - Initiate Soldiers are the DG equivalent of WG's Initiate Guardians. The process of graduation involves attending events, being forum & IRC active, being friendly and mature, and overall showing willingness to join and support the clan.

Non-clan members receive the rank of Initiate Soldier upon successful application.

The DG Emeritus rank corresponds to the WG rank of the same name. DG Emeriti have the same abilities for the junior clan, and they must also have been a DG staff member at one point to be eligible for the rank.
