Lordy, I know you said it on RSC, but does anyone actually not feel 100% confident about this? (Even though all questions are lopsided and seem like good updates.) I honestly think some people may end up believing RS3 is where it should have stayed...for a future in PvP. At least after the nostalgia-people left 07.

Look, we said 07 is a temporary solution. Then with this update it'll have people thinking, "YES! Jagex is finally listening to us, this is finally the solution. The wilderness and PvP is finally fixed! OSRS forever now."

You might be thinking, "well typical RS3 player's opinion about OSRS," but let me tell you:

07 is not Jagex's investment for the future, it's kind of the opposite. I'll say kind of, not wholly, since these wildy updates are actually new to both games. It's a rewind server like Classic. Or maybe a server for us to play on until we get back to RS3...which nobody is saying they'll ever go back to. Maybe they'll use OSRS to test if this works for the wilderness and port it to RS3. However, this division with RS3 being the non-PvP game and 07 being the PKing game can't last, and Jagex is going to have to dump one of them. My instincts tell me that'll be 07, cause I don't think they'll scrap all of the work they put into main game.

I say the division and 07 isn't going to or can't last also because this is Jagex's side project that they appointed a small group of people to. Maybe they don't need that much and the game has been doing well. But then why haven't they gotten a bunch people to play 07 like everyone thought it would? Yes, I made an assumption there, but don't tell me you didn't think adding GWD and reviving the wilderness would bring more people to the game.

Just another reason is unless it gets better graphics...a certain amount of people are going to prefer RS3 regardless, and there's not going to be a lot of people for this to work. And other general gameplay of course.

So if you've read until this point, let me ask -- why would any regular person (not one just to play for the old experience or nostalgia) want to play 07? Without player growth, this update might not help much. Even if it's still good, the "PvP world" is still mostly outrun by the Zybez community.

I'd like to hear some opposing opinions. This may sound negative to you, but keep in mind it's not that I want OSRS to die. If OSRS dies there's won't be a viable PvP system on either game, which basically makes or breaks RS for a ton of people. And oh, WG would have a bigger problem than ever before.

Well if Jagex wants any chance at having people like Darth to come back then this is good. It's a start. Hopefully JUST the start, because from a faraway scope this is barely anything. They haven't even scratched the surface for RS3 wilderness, which is really the only thing that'll bring PvP back to the game. We've seen CWA, multiple eras actually, and it didn't last for long.

We are just now starting to fix combat, after what almost two years of EoC's beta and release? but faaaar away from PvP revival...just my opinion of course.

IF WG wants to be at the forefront of this, we need people to start getting reacquainted with RS# as soon as possible...

Nothing will happen to 07 clans, sure, most are there because they didn't like EoC, but this'll definitely get more RS3 clans out?

No more need to spam-press abilities, special attacks coming back,

"We want to revive PvP in RuneScape, and will be starting with a collection of essential combat tweaks and rebalances. This will include changes to stun durations, incoming damage, PvP minigames and removing the global cooldown on weapon switching."

How will this affect the clan world, etc.? ##

I'm really surprised your last video got the attention it did. 50k views, 1300 comments, and almost 2200 likes (~150 dislikes). Incredible. I tweeted it out on the clan Twitter. Let's keep rooting for PvP revival.

Looks pretty neat. Kind of irrelevant if it's single-player. But as you said, it's still in early stages of development.
It seems like a complete wasted opportunity to a potentially perfect multiplayer game.
30v30 castle sieges? Horseback combat?
If this game doesn't have multi maybe it will be successful enough to spark other developers' interest in this sort of thing.

PLZ WARHORSE PLS

Yeah we can only hope. Although I don't know why this developer wouldn't implement MP technology to this game. It's like...the perfect game for it.
Maybe they lack the personnel to develop and maintain it? Lack the funding? Don't have the servers to run it on?
I played GW2 for a month. Was boring. They hyped it up as no grind but the game was 100% grind. Story was super uninteresting as well.
There's very little grind if you play dungeons at the appropriate levels (i.e. Ascalonian Catacombs the second you hit 30/35), although admittedly that's hard with elitist speed runners everywhere demanding gear checks. It is indeed very grindy if you do the hearts, but if you explore and just do random events, it's actually pretty decent. Takes 3-4 days of moderate play to max out at level 80. The big issue imo with GW2 is a complete lack of PvE endgame - unless you just want to run Fractals over and over. And the guild support is pretty shocking, still no guild halls, still no way for guild vs guild PvP. :/

I agree though, the personal story was quite lacklustre.

(I've not played GW2 in months btw, due to the aforementioned lack of endgame)
I played GW2 for a week or two and only got to lvl 15, went on it yesterday and they gave me lvl 20 for free because I'd been registered for one year lol.
So IDK how ppl level to 80 in 4 days lol!
Wat, I got to level 15 in about 12 hours during one of the beta weekends... I guess it's just different play styles. :P
ye I haven't rly played anythin like gw2 before.
I was just following the storyline quest thing and completing all the area things.

Have never played GW2 before.
Just continuing the quote tower.

Welcome, good to see a new applicant. We seem to be adding onto the Dutch and Belgium unit. :P

Was it the RS forums you found us on?

This is pretty great, I'm excited. Can't vote tho too low total level. :3

Seems like everything's pretty lopsided in favor of all except maybe a few. Vote up!

I started playing the game with a group of neighborhood friends too. :) That was back in 2004 though, and most of them quit within a year or two. Good times.

Cali represent! Which part are you from? I'm in the Bay.

I thought Canifis should have won too. Totally serious...even though the wilderness and all. Imo a mini-game added there would just be dead content, if not soon after. Canifis is just an on-the-way stop to Morytania.

Yeah there is, I remember, and I was part of the second list as Big Al 002. :P

We would still be missing names from other eras right? Or...if I'm not mistaken, we can collect names from those two lists and succeeding forum lists/membergroups.
