House of Random / Mountain trolls = cannibals

Whilst on my runescape farming adventures i came to a realization.

If trolls are named after the first thing they try to eat:

Does that mean all these other "unnamed" trolls really just all try to eat each other ???

Real Life Discussion / My tafe menu
February 28, 2015, 10:05:23 AM
So to qualify as a chef all apprentices need to plan/cost a menu (we're given a strict budget of $300, which needs to cover a 3 course for 40 people), and at the end of the year run a restaurant using your menu.

This is my menu i've come up with:

----------------------------------------

Updated! pics in spoiler
My restaurant day was just a few days ago,
I ended up changing quite a lot of the menu since making this post originally, heres some pictures from the night.

Entrees:

Mushroom and truffle vellutata, served with croutons parsley oil and rosemary flowers.

Pumpkin gnocchi with salsa soubise, pancetta and raddichio.

Mains:

Snapper fillet with caponata, salsa dragoncello and onion confit.

Lamb ragu with tagliatelle, grana padano and basil oil.

Desserts:

Chocolate Tartufo with almond earl gray crumble.

Strawberry torta with cardomom cream

House of Random / she gives me a hamburger
November 07, 2014, 10:47:40 AM
stop at the mcdonalds I used to work at manager i worked with sees me in the drive thru we hate each other she asks how did I obtain the car I ask for a hamburger, she gives me a hamburger I raise it to my lips and take a bite. My eye twitches involuntarily. Across the street a father of three falls down the stairs I swallow and look down at the hamburger in my hands. She gives me a hamburger I swallow and look down at the hamburger in my hands. I cannot swallow. There are children at the top of the stairs a pickle shifts uneasily under the bun. She gives me a hamburger I look at her face, and she is pleading with me. The children are crying now I raise the hamburger to my lips, tears stream down my face as I take a bite she gives me a hamburger. I am on my knees. I plead with her to go across the street. She hears only children's laughter she gives me a hamburger I am screaming as I fall down the stairs. I cannot see anything I take a bite of the hamburger the concrete rushes up to meet me I awake with a start in my own bed. My eye twitches involuntarily she gives me a hamburger as I kill her, I do not make a sound she gives me a hamburger

This is aimed at 100+ combat, you are welcome to try these methods below 100, but I suggest also reading my Beginners Guide Here.

Advanced Combat Training

Ankous are the lowest exp rate of the three, but it's the only one that you will profit from. If you are low on money these are still a great method of training.

Nightmare Zone is a bit higher exp rate, but you'll lose a bit of money on prayer pots. (you will make some of the cash back from buying rewards with points, but still a loss)

Skeletal Monkeys are by far the best exp in the game, almost double of what you would get at ankous. Only downside is it is also the most expensive since there are no drops to compensate your prayer potions.

Click the spoilers below for more information.
Requirements
Haunted Mine and Tarn's Lair miniquest - Salve Amulet (e)

Location

Ankous are on the bottom floor of the Stronghold of Security.
The quickest way to bank is to home teleport to lumbridge to bank, and take a canoe back up to barbarian village.

What to bring

>Bring the best offensive gear that you have, with a Salve Amulet for an extra 20% Damage.
The axe is to canoe back up after you bank.
If you've done heroes, D Baxe is a cheap alternative for super strength potions. Just drink a restore before your super attack.

Location

Nightmare zone is a SAFE minigame located just north of Yanille bank.

What to bring

You will need to bring around 36k per inventory.
You can buy Overloads with reward points, they are cheap and highly recommended to use.

How to play
First go to NMZ and put atleast 6k coins in the coffer. (You can put more in, but it costs 6k per inventory to enter.)
Go to World 1 and you will see people advertising quest bosses which only attack you with melee for around 20-30k gold. Trade one of them and they will set it up for you.
Once you're inside simply keep pray melee up and you can pretty much AFK it.

Requirements
Haunted Mine and Tarn's Lair miniquest - Salve Amulet (e)
Started Monkey Madness

Location

If you've done RFD the fastest way here is to teleport to ape atoll, otherwise get a glider to the stronghold from al kharid.
The blue marks are where the skeletons are, make sure to stand underneath the ledge so you don't get hit by the rockfall.

What to bring

You will be protecting from melee so wear either proselyte/initiate or monk robes, Salve Amulet and the best offensive pieces that you have.
AFK Training

All you need is a set of Guthan's and you can AFK for up to 6 hours at a time. You can do this overnight or whilst you're at work/wherever else.
There are only 2 locations where this method of training will work, anywhere else you will get a random event after about 20 minutes.
What to bring

Location

This will only work on normal mode, not hard. So make sure you confirm with the NMZ host to do normal before you trade your gold over.
Stand along the wall so you only have one NPC hitting you at a time.

Guides / [07]Guide to Tanking
June 20, 2013, 10:10:03 AM
Mooses guide to Tanking

Since we have an influx of a lot of new members who are new to the warring scene (as well as old members returning who may be a little rusty) i have decided to put together a tanking guide!

Section I: Pre-Tanking
In this section I will cover stuff you can do to increase your chance or survival before you even get piled.

- Do not stand out.
This is aimed at mages/rangers. In a random scrap in the wilderness, or planned fights where multi spells are on ignore this, since you'd want to be spread out in those situations, but for single-spell only fights this is highly important.
Why? If you're a Mage, you are a very valuable to us, and thus, a very high target to the opposing clan. By standing out and not blending in with our pile it makes you a very easy target for them to transition to.
What you need to be doing is Freeze our pile, then follow them before attacking so that you're always with our melee group.

- Conserve your run.
This isn't as important in P2P since you can take a super energy with you if need be, but in F2p this is a must. If you have no run energy and you get piled then you will get dropped very quickly. You should aim to always be above 60% energy at all times for this matter. Everyone should have 2+ styles anyway, so simply walk and switch to mage/range if you need to preserve energy.

- Beware of Snipers.
If you get sniped during a fight, put on your tank gear (and pray if necessary), and they should go away. Always make sure to top off your health afterwards incase you get piled soon after.

Section II: Tanking
As soon as you notice that you're the pile, you have literally around 2-3 seconds (varying on enemy KO power) to react before you get dropped.
Do this in the following order, as quick as you can.

1) Put your tank gear on (this includes phoenix necklace)

2) Prayer up. Use your own personal judgement based on their styles as to what you pray, but as a go-to you'll want Melee prayer and piety/steel skin.

3) Start running and eating your food.

For P2P, you can eat half a pizza*, a shark and dose of sara brew in one game tick. This is crucial for p2p tanking, as you can heal 45 health at once.
If you can master that, then tanking in p2p is a joke.
- Remember to keep clicking on your phoenix necklaces in your bag whilst tanking so that you always have one on, they are life savers.

Effective Hugging
Whilst tanking, you should aim to "hug" the enemy pile around any walls, trees or rocks to get them stuck on the other side. This does a number of things:
- Wastes their run, making it harder to pile effectively as well as harder for them to tank.
- A lot of their meleers won't be hitting you, reducing the amount of damage you take drastically.
- If you can hook them around walls, and get a good drag off you can preserve a lot of your food, and sometimes they'll even drop off you and call a different pile.

If you're low on run, you can even just hug around a smaller object. This won't waste their run, and is generally less effective, but is still a lot better than not moving at all.

Levels 3-50

The first few levels should be done entirely through quests, as the exp/hour you get from actual melee combat is horrible at this level. All of the following quests can be done at level 3 (though death is a possibility if you aren't careful with your surroundings)

Do the following quests in any order;

- Waterfall Quest +13,750 Attack and Strength exp.  - You will have to run past a level 84 moss giant and 86 fire giants. For the moss giant part there are level 22 skeletons closeby, make sure to aggro those before running past the giant so you don't get 1 hit. There are usually people killing the fire giants in the waterfall so just run right past.

Fight Arena +12175 Attack exp - You will have to kill a few quest bosses here but all of them are easily safe-spotted behind a corpse on the ground. Just bring enough casts (400-500 will do)

Tree Gnome Village +11450 Attack exp You will have to run past a few aggressive level 20's, but nothing that can 1 shot you, just make sure you have food. For the end boss on this quest if you don't have protect from melee, you can either:
a) Get someone to stand inbetween the boss and yourself, allowing you to safely cast away at him, or
b) Stand at max range, run and cast.

The Grand Tree +18,400 Attack exp You have to run past level 44 spiders at one point in the quest, just make sure you have a few pieces of decent food to get past. Safespot the demon at the end of the quest with Mage.

Levels 50-65

This order is suggested

Witches House +6325 HP Fairly straightforward quest, i believe some or all? of the quest bosses can be safespotted but you should be fine to just melee them down.

Holy Grail +15,300 Def, 11K Prayer exp If you don't have melee protect for the black knight titan you can safespot it (use range as it is very resistant to mage), as long as the finishing blow is with excalibur.

Monkey Madness +Total of 110K att/str/def/hp exp Slightly difficult doing this without prayer but still definately doable. If you're doing this without prayer the only high-risk points are in the altar with the monkey guards, and the demon at the end. For the demon, just run to the bridge to safespot him and let the gnomes get him to 1hp. Run out and kill him quickly.

Dragon Slayer +18,650 Strength and Defence expThis quest should be very easy with all the levels you've attained from the previous quests. More quick exp here as well as rune plate yay!

Haunted Mine +22,000 Strength exp Easy quest for some quick strength exp, plus the salve amulet is good for training on undead later.

Levels 65+

Now that you've completed all the efficient exp quests you should go kill things!

At this level Flesh Crawlers are good to train on as they are aggressive, as well as yield some decent loot. Unids are very common as well as a bunch of fire runes, iron ore and natures. You can effectively train here up until around level 80.

Experiments are also decent exp at this level, however they are unaggresive and drop no loot. These are good to train on until around level 90.

Levels 100+

Once you've reached level 100, refer to this guide
