I'm well-aware that there are things that I have forgotten/will forget. The flaw in your argument, however, is that you associate the loss of memories with negativity. Why? I'm perfectly content with knowing that things will be forgotten. There are actually numerous events in my life that I would actually be glad to forget about. I don't grant excessive value and prestige to something like my memory, especially given that it deteriorates with age. And that is a personal choice - one which others are free to condone or condemn, but not change.

1. You know what doesn't cure disease? Praying, and divine power. You know what does cure disease? Medicine, and the health industry. When someone gets a life-threatening illness, they can either go to a hospital or a church. Going to a hospital, I call intelligent. Going to a church, I call natural selection. By all means, please lecture me on the 'miracles' your god has performed by curing some white middle-class old lady's arthritis whilst completely neglecting to mention the millions of others in third world countries suffering from poverty, war and/or disease. And if you want to tell me that it's because 'they lack faith', and that your god will only cater to their needs if they worship him in a particular way (with no evidence or reason to do so), then your god is an immoral and inconsiderate asshole and he can kindly go and fuck himself.

2/3. Old age and death. Now I personally would love to live forever, but I'm pretty sure that the vast majority of people on this planet aren't so keen on it. Why? Because if it's without an end, you lose all meaning and purpose to your life - and then what's the point in living? Death is NOT a bad thing. It should be acknowledged, yes, but certainly not feared. That's a whole other debate though, but you're welcome to try and convince me why I should spend every waking moment of my life curled up in a ball crying over how I will one day be a rotting, lifeless corpse filled with maggots in a box in the ground somewhere.
