Real Life Discussion / Re: New Years Resolutions
« on: December 25, 2012, 05:31:27 pm »
This year's goals:

1.  To redo filing system and clean out my desk and keep it in order.  Organization is key to having a good place to work.

2.  Take watercolor painting classes and expand on medias that I usually don't use with my art.

3.   Be merciful, make peace, more loving, spread joy to everyone, show kindness, have self-control, be humble
and generally be a good person that others can come to knowing they will be comforted, loved and helped.

4.  Continue helping Africa to have no more malaria in the world.

I know mine are pretty personal, but I really have passion about Africa and all those people dying when I have it so good.

The part we don't know is how publicly he did it.

If it was very public like from a stage then it is not just harassment but defamation of a person by unprivileged oral communication made to a third party known as slander.

Also her profession could play a part in this type of case if her body fat is an issue for her job.

Quote
An action for slander may be brought without alleging and proving special damages if the statements in question have a plainly harmful character, as by imputing to the plaintiff criminal guilt, serious sexual misconduct, or conduct or a characteristic affecting his or her business or profession.

It's crazy but I've seen similar cases to this about calling people fat.

I'd say to apologize and offer something to her to make it better before it goes to court.
Just not a box of chocolates or something that will make her more fat.  lol

Real Life Discussion / Re: Zoo Attack in Pittsburgh
« on: November 18, 2012, 01:47:18 am »
The quick update on this.

The parents asked for anyone that wanted to send flowers to instead send construction truck toys.
All the toys were donated to help for Christmas.

Then I heard that lawyers got involved and are bringing a case against the zoo.
The claim is that the zoo did not respond quickly enough.
The end time for the situation was 5 minutes and 25 seconds.

I'm rather disturbed that the family is going to try to make money from the loss of their child.
Those zoo keepers are forever changed by this death.
You can see the remorse on the Dr. in charge of the zoo.
She looks completely drained and sick over the entire situation as they press her for answers.
This mother is going to have to answer questions in court that she may not be prepared to face.
It seems like a very unkind thing for the family to put her through.
Some times in tragedy it should not be about who was right or wrong, but that the child is gone forever.......

If you look at the educated states, you might want to consider how many people move there for jobs.
I know that the ones around Washington, DC have a lot of people that move there from other states.

Al your maps were more interesting to show culture and the acceptance of government.

All this fighting for power is just defeating the purpose.
Let's say that all that money they just spent on the election was given to those people in NY that are cold and hungry.
Now that would be a good economic plan of money well spent.

No one talks about the 1 in 5 people in the USA that go to the food banks and shelters cause they don't have what it takes to live.

Honestly Lordy I think the problem is not so much that half of America loves Mitt, it's just they will vote for anyone to get their party in the white house.
That's the issue with our two party system, it's vote-against-the-other-guy rather than vote for the guy you truly believe in...
We have other parties but voting for them is basically like nulling your vote. The system is flawed.

Exactly this. . . It started after the Civil War.

The division was those for free rights and those against it.
Soon two parties formed and became the strongest making all the others to weak to compete.
Before that there were many parties that had a chance to win.
It has only gotten worse over the years.

He bought two swing states by bailing the car industry out.
Whose money was that he spent?
The future of America is that the unborn children will have to work til they are 80 to pay that back.

My future is now to support a group that looks to better America and I plan on being an independent in the future elections.
The election may be over but the American people can still stop his spending with protests.
I'm going to save some money up to go to Washington, DC.

I just hope in four years we see Ron Paul on the ballots.
He would of had my support this time had he been a real candidate.

I'll be praying for him to do the right thing for Americans and not his own agenda.

Halo is always fun.
I laugh at the tea bags.
It is funny how different the players that come to the midnight release are.
Halo players are a bit more serious and nerdy then COD.
My bank teller met me their so I had someone to hang out with.

Update so far is that the dogs will not be put down.
The exhibit is closed til Spring and may or may not reopen.

Have not seen the mother or father yet on the news.
A lady that works with the mom came on and said that she was a good mother.
They showed a picture of the little boy tonight and that was really sad.

The zoo had an inspection in Sept and had gotten an outstanding rating.
They are going to be reinspected now to check on if they did something wrong.
They had three eyewitnesses talk about what they saw but they didn't show faces.
They will likely have to be in court at some point.
The boy was alive when he was mauled by the dogs.
So legally the zoo could be charged for his death.

No one can make that mother feel worse than she will make herself feel.
It showed their home with a little truck on the porch and flowers that the neighbors had left.
It said family and friends were with them at the zoo.
The father arrived from what I could tell shortly after the attack ended.
It was their only child.

People are blaming the zookeepers for not going in to save the boy.
They shot the animals with tranquilizers and threw shovels and rakes to distract them.
It wasn't safe for them to go in and there would of been more fatalities.
It all happened in less than 5 minutes and the zookeeper was like 10 feet away from the cage when it began.

No parent is flawless or free from making mistakes.

I'm not saying the mother didn't do the wrong thing.
She will live with that, but my heart goes out to her even in her mistake.
They are doing an update at 1:00 on channel 2 if anyone is in our area.
If they don't put the animals down, I would expect they will be moved to some other zoo or reserve.

I'll post again when I hear an update later.

http://t.news.msn.com/us/update-2-year-old-boy-killed-at-pa-zoo-exhibit

This is what is going on in my zoo.
I go there all the time and keep a membership.
I am so sad over this.

It's so sad to me to have a mother lose her child.
The by-standers that watched this will forever be changed.
I just can't believe this happened as I have been to that exhibit a hundred times.
It never really seemed unsafe to me.

I only posted this cause it is so disturbing to me.
These animals are endangered and likely now will be put down.

Has anyone else had a zoo fatality in their area?
I'll be watching this also from a legal point to see how it all plays out.

I'm going a bit crazy getting all my codes for the game put in.
So far I have 150 of the double xp matches saved up for.
Anyone else finding the extreme urge to drink Mt Dew and Doritos.
I don't drink pop so I've been stealing caps from the other girls at college.
I bought Doritos for Halloween Party and to take to G-Pa's Birthday Party today.

I was a bit bummed when I realized the time change meant I have to wait an extra hour for the midnight release.

Post your xbox plans and if you will have a Halo party at your house.
I think mine will be on Friday night unless someone else hosts it this time.
The joke will be can I bring the Mt Dew or Doritos?  lol

I'm doing mine at Best Buy.
Remember to take any games you have to turn in as they are giving a 100% bonus for trade ins at the midnight release too.
So far they seem to have the best deal with a gift card for $20 when you buy the new console.
If you are only getting the game you might want to check out Toys'R'Us for a $10 card on any game over $59.99 that you buy.

I'm extremely disappointed. . . but still will go see all of them.

I would not of picked Disney to do this.
I love Lion King and a lot of the other movies, but Star Wars is in a class of its own.
