How to change Fn Keys. This is for windows 7 because I have no patience for windows 8.

I saw a few people asking about this and to be honest the reason I'm writing this is due to the fact F keys have always been legendary for tanking. Switching between tabs without clicking your mouse saves lives. I hope many lives are saved with the production of this guide.

What you need to find out:
- Who made your PC.
- How to get on BIOS (may need if option #1 doesn't work out)

Option #1

For Dells & possibly others,
Go to Control panel, Windows mobility center - There may be an item called Function key row with a dropdown list.  You should find it set to Multimedia keys & can select Function keys instead.  The settings will revert to their default when you restart the PC.
I personally don't have it in my windows mobility center so I can't show with screenshots, however I can show you where it is :)


See me if you are blind and can't see it - but thats a whole set of new problems.

Option #2

Reboot into the BIOS (usually by pressing f12/escape/f8 repeatedly as the PC loads up - like how we used to war in EoC ;)) & look for the Multimedia key item.  Change this so that function keys come first. Below are some images from several PC makers so you might find something that looks similar.

There is a second method within RS - which is to do with keybinds, the only problem with this is similar to EoC - requiring enter to be pressed before chat but whatever floats your boat.

Nice guide! Strongly recommend fixing this if you haven't already. The use of F keys in wars makes you so much more efficient and effective
