Not sure but I do know it is best-in-slot for range I believe(maybe others too) so if you have the money to throw away, just spend it :p

If you're not max melee I'd only get em for something like training at nmz/chinning with pray where def doesn't matter, otherwise fury works fine.

Or be like me and not give a fuck about def and use em for everything

Yeah I agree with Vio. Fury is best for any kind of general training/slayer, but if you're doing NMZ or chinning the zenyte jewellery would be better if you can afford it.

I would say that if you're unsure whether to buy and don't have a huge amount of cash to burn then just wait until the price drops a bit. MM2 hasn't been out all that long in the grand scheme of things.
