Hacking with java
« on: October 16, 2011, 03:27:41 am »
Is it possible to have your computer hacked if you allow a java application to run on your computer.

Reason for asking is that i allowed a java application to run on my computer the other day, just once, in order to watch a runescape related stream (yes incredibly stupid i know) but anyways, my computer was hacked, they forced my computer to shutdown after repeatedly blacking out my runescape page and took all my stoofs, now the problem isnt my runescape stuff, its just pixels no worries there, but the real concern for me is the the overall security of my computer.

Basically i want to know whether it is possible to have had a keylogger or trojan etc. placed on my computer via java?

It depends where you got it from.
Some people can put a Trojan or any other form of virus into their own version of Java.
Be careful with that.
I'd suggest running Malware Bytes and an Anti-virus to make sure your computer is safe.
After running those both, reset your passwords and you should be fine.
Take me to church
I'll worship like a dog at the shrine of your lies
I'll tell you my sins and you can sharpen your knife
Offer me that deathless death
Good God, let me give you my life

System restore will usually rectify the problem if you computer is shutting down on start up. If that wont work try a factory reset. Goodluck and never allow applications like java or a .exe file to run on your pc no matter what unless you KNOW its safe:) Hope i helped.
