This is why I have all my friends call me Gene and not Eugene.
Eugene comes from the word eugenics. BAD!
And when associated with nazi eugenics, it's even worse.

Basically, Eugenics is basically "racial hygiene" - only allowing people with desirable traits to pass on their genes in order to breed a better race.
It is the ultimate discrimination, because it discriminated agains almost everything: race, intelligence, sexual orientation, physical appearance, personality, age, and more.

So in a nutshell, I thought I'd request people call me Gene and not Eugene so I can avoid the Nazi connotations.

How do you feel about being called his lordship over TS etc, does it make you feel odd?  Understandably you've had that name forever but it seems a very formal name to be called on TS.

Welllllllllll . . . I think I have been calling you Gene sense we met other than when you were Eli or something.  I love the name Gene and to me sounds very very manly and fits you so well.  Eugene sounds like your in trouble with your momma.  Sorta like when I get called Rachel Ann.  Gotta love the mommas.  lol

There's nothing wrong with Eugene or Gene. Now Jean sounds like an old grandma name, I should know, I feel like an old grandma every time I hear my name being called from a roster of some sort.
