Favorite video games of all time.

Haven't seen one of these topics in a while.

With the upcoming releases of some games that look absolutely amazing (Guild Wars 2, Mass Effect 3, etc) I felt inspired to make this topic. I know it's hard to compare video games from different genres, platforms and eras, but post your favorite video games of all time!

Mine, in no particular order:

1. Mass Effect 2
2. Portal
3. Deus Ex: Human Revolution
4. Age of Empires series (particularly the second installment)

And to a lesser extent:

5. Star Wars: the Old Republic (so far)
6. Call of Duty series
7. Guild Wars
8. Assassin's Creed
9. Batman: Arkham City


I'm a big fan of character development and game immersion. Games that make you feel like you're a part of the world should be the ultimate goal for developers.

I tend to judge my favorites on play ability, how long i can play one without being bored.

Pokemon gameboy series
Gears of War 1/2/3 (xbox 360)
Star fox 64 (n64)
Super Smash Bros. (n64)
Starcraft 2 (PC) <-- while its a simple game to extents the versatility of gameplay keeps me playing

Basically, i love coop games you can play with more than 1 person, but rpgs are epic as well, just cant be same thing allll game long.

Conflict: Desert Storm - Logged plenty of hours on this with my brother on the PS2
Mass Effect 2

Counterstrike: Source. - Had about 700 hours played on this xD
Gears of war series
Red Dead Revolver/Redemption - I'm a sucker for cowboy games.
Super Smash Bros. - Spent a large chunk of my time with my friends and brothers on the N64 smashing.

I am so disappointed in WG's choice of games.

Final Fantasy Series (Top 3: 7, 9, and 10, in that order)
Super Mario RPG: Legend of Seven Stars
Metroid Series (Super Metroid and Metroid: Prime)
Zelda Series (A Link to the Past)
Diablo II (+ expansion pack)

Those are all classics in video game history. There are definitely more, but I just picked my top 5.
