So the first presidential debate has just finished. If you watched it, who do you think won?

I think Romney. The moderator was the clear loser.

Obama or Romney will win this election. Cast your vote to whoever you believe is the better candidate of the two. That being said, I like the values held by Ron Paul over either of these candidates. Is he going to win? No. Would I rather Romney be in office over Obama, even though I can't stand either? Absolutely. Feed Obama or Romney your vote, feed Ron Paul, Gary Johnson, Virgil Goode, or whoever your money and verbal support.

Unfortunately, America has this little to offer in canidates at the moment.
I have to agree that voting for anyone other than Obama or Romney won't get them elected anyway.
It is a sad place the American people find themselves.
Soooo very sad.
I decided to look at the first lady choices.
Obama's wife said nasty stuff about Oprah being a bad example to American girls cause she is fat.
That just made her the most stupid woman on Earth.
She also ruined the school lunches where I live.
All the kids complain about the food or lack of it that they get now.

As an outsider, I'd go for Obama... He may not be able to keep his promises, but that's only for a lack of balls...
Romney may have the balls to do what he promises, but what he promises is going to finish the job of killing off the middle class by wideing the rich and poor gap that started under Reagan and was very successfully continued under Bush jr.

At this point the choice is between little to no action at all at Obama's side (even though he probably prevented a recession, killed bin Laden, started healthcare reform, started a new war but ended it and also ended another, and is adding private sector jobs every single month)...

And Mitt Romney...
A mormon who thinks we are older than the universe itself and wears magical underwear, who thinks that the failed economic policies of the Reagan era are a good idea, wants to cut taxes for people who barely pay any, doesn't want to cut any spending at all yet says he's going to reduce the deficit, persists that climate change isn't happening at all because the bible says so (while they had to delay his convention cuz of a hurricane), denies the existance of rape babies cuz it throws a wrench in the right-to-life mechanics, wants to teach teens with raging hormones about sex by telling them not to have it, wants to invade North Korea and Iran with an already exhausted military, wants to take out "the bad parts of Obama-care" (you know the parts that pay for it), thinks that putting the word "clean" next to the word "coal" somehow makes clean coal, wants to cut regulations EVERYWHERE (even for baby-food), is in favor of all kinds of voter surpression laws (cuz republicans can only win if they cheat, see 2000), is against ANY progression of the rights of gays, women, blacks and immigrants, and last but not least, thinks that rich people create jobs when it's been proven that rich people just want more money and hire whoever will do it cheapest (overseas) and actual jobs come from the consumer, regular Joe Sixpack that for 100$ a year more can now afford to eat proper tuna instead of catfood with mayonaise...
I could go on...

Fact remains that the U.S. is a country where half the population for whatever reason can't face reality and would rather believe in fairytales... A poll shows that only half of americans are aware that Judaism is an older religion than Christianity... That's right, half of americans cannot tell which one came first; The Old Testament or The New Testament....
It is the only reason why republicans still get just aboutr half of the votes...

And what do they (republicans) accuse Obama of wanting to do claim Obama has done?
He supposedly raised taxes even though they are at their lowest level in 40 years...
He ran up the deficit by trillions, but it's actually Bush's policies (invading the wrong country, for example) that caused that, see this graph:

That Obamacare is a government takeover of all healthcare, when it's just not. It just forces you to get insurance...
They accuse him of being a socialist, when he's infact given the 3rd biggest corporate blowjob ever (after Reagan and Bush), that he isn't even born in the U.S. even after showing his birth certificate, that he's a muslim when he's attended church for 3 decades and drinks beer and eats pork...

Again I could go on, but a liberal would've fought alongside the unions, would've increased tax on the rich by a helluva lot more, would've enacted some kind of bill on carbon emissions and gun control, would've legalized pot and ended the drug war, just to name a few. A social democrat (comparable to the UK's Labour party) would go further still, but an actual socialist would still think this is STILL too soft...

So to all you undecideds, I have a message for you (funny at first, but the good part starts at 2:10):

True. Every obese person in this country thinks they're a victim. "oh, I have a glandular problem".."oh, I have an eating disorder"...funny how we're the only country with all of these problems. Must be something in the water. OR MAYBE YOU CAN PUT DOWN THE FORK.

Anyways...this is getting off topic...

I honestly hope Obama wins the entire thing.
What people fail to realize is that Romney will outsource jobs to China and screw with the Canadian/American relations.

There's more to the story.

Oh and also as a reply to the topic, I don't think it's a matter of who wins or not. It's all public perception, and while that matters, it's not the only thing that should be weighted when you vote.

To me the debate is a rundown of which sides each candidate are taking, and that's what we do know. All the things they say aren't for sure and like Rachel said it's "pick the best one who you think will try or do the best for our country."

From the debate, there is one topic that stuck to my mind. It's Obamacare. I like many other Americans don't have medical insurance and without his policy I would not be able to have my pre-existing conditions taken care of for an affordable price. Romney clearly said he would scrap this.

Then there are other bits and pieces I'm unsure about.

-Why is Romney knocking China on outsourcing products? They're "cheating?"
-When Obama talks about his mother and 55 year olds or above, something about a medical/social security policy?

Thoughts: I'm suspicious of why Romney hasn't released details on his companies or his personal history with them. I haven't found the exact source, but I remember hearing that 4/10 of his top companies went bankrupt? And that's not to say that he's a horrible businessman. People talk about how his business experience would be a plus for the economy. Obama himself invested in a solar panel manufacturer not too far from where I live and it went bankrupt too.

Will add to this later as it's late.

Throw away my moral integrity? Okay, I was being a little political correct and indirect in my original post. Let me make this clearer. I LIKE RON PAUL. A lot. None of the other candidates come close to his integrity, and I would have loved to see him win. However, you'd be an idiot to think he still has a chance. On the other hand, I HIGHLY disagree with both Obama and Romney on several issues. However, Obama has PROVED himself COMPLETELY ineffective in handling money. I'm not sure where that image came from that Ts Stormrage posted, but it's HORRIBLY wrong ( http://politiac.com/The_Obama_is_Fiscally_Responsible_Claim_is_Debunked_and_Disproved/ ). I don't think anyone's paying attention, but NO other issue is remotely close to being as important as our fiscal responsibility right now. Whether or not Romney's very good at it (which he's not), he can't be NEARLY as bad as Obama. We CANNOT let Obama win, even if it means voting for Romney. So if you're going to be telling anyone to screw out of here, tell it to the guys who supported Romney and Obama on their trip to the top, not the one who chooses between them. I have never supported Romney or Obama in any way, but I have supported Ron Paul through money donations and buying stuff to advertise for him.

Please, tell me our country doesn't need college students with integrity who financially support hardly known candidates because of what they believe in.

Romney was a godly debater, though, pardon my French, you can sprinkle sugar on crap, but it's still crap. Obama is a weaker debater, though a better politician as a whole, though the person I believe the better out of the two would be...

But Obama is sure as hell better than Romney.
