The Hobbit

George:

I saw it last week with some mates, and, having expected to enjoy it already, wasn't disappointed. It was great!

I like the way that the screenwriters have not just used the novel of The Hobbit as their focus, but also the posthumous Tolkien stories, which include the bits about why the dwarves were forced out of the Lonely Mountain and why they're returning - I think this makes the 3 film length justifiable.

I saw it in High Frame Rate and 3D, just... because....
What are everyone's thoughts on HFR?

SquelchyFish:

Went to see it in 2D with my Dad as when I was little we saw all of the Lotrs', then again in 3d HFR with friends.

3D is really shitty, can barely focus on anything. I hope it dies out again for another 30 years. Didn't notice any difference with the HFR although others who have seen it thought it was the bees knees, this is coming from someone with 20/20 and a little bit of film degree.

A lot of negative reviews were posted for the Hobbit as some say its too "jokey", I for one think they did good in converting what was a childrens book into film.

Bam:

didn't like LOTR so i'm not going to waste my money on this one.
