They can get their forum access back if they will just make an easy compromise with me to tone it down.
How can fully grown men still be immature enough to have a forum rebellion against my decision rather than talk it out?
I am not stopping all the spam for no reason. There is legitimate concern about the HoR I am trying to address.

You see, that's just it mate. You're looking after your own interests but I have to look after everyone. Not everyone has this sense of humour and they are getting annoyed, and since we're all in this together, what I have been asking for is for you to responsibly scale back to make people feel less unhappy.
I'll quote what I sent in PM to Kevin:

1. It is being over-used by the same people who are forming a "HoR Unit", which is bad for the community.

Why does it need to be controlled?
For the reasons above. For an Emeritus member like yourself and Keith it's not bad at all, but for the active members it is distracting them too much from their clan duties and it's also confusing to new members who have no idea why everyone is always posting inside jokes (eg about trains) which excludes them from the fun.
How is it annoying?
Because of the reasons above. These three questions are really the same question rephrased. If I don't regulate it now, it will lead to worse problems later.

I am talking through the issue calmly with you and explaining all my thoughts, and listening to your side.
I have not deleted the forum and I am prepared to give certain members their posting rights back after we've resolved the problem.
It is a sacrifice on your part. I realise that there is less fun for you if I'm restricting your posting.
But it is a price that must be paid so that a greater good can be achieved.

Posting funny/amusing shit in here is fine, but filling it with topics titled "dude wat" that simply contain "�������������������������������������������������" as the post is pretty pointless/annoying, and definitely not funny.
The HoR is designed to be somewhere to discuss anything not covered in the other forums, and to play forum games and post funny stuff. It was not made to post topics with no discussion value, humour, or meaning/reason.
This http://www.wildernessguardians.com/smf/index.php?topic=6499.0 is a prime example of the "segregated community" Gene is talking about, it's basically a topic saying "These are the people that run the House of Random, if you're not one of them you don't belong."
A lot of you/most of you weren't around for the TS crew incidents (multiple incidents), where there was a little clique of people who were always on teamspeak (Again, something everyone can use, but would definitely not feel like they fit in if they were on teamspeak with the TS crew and their inside jokes and segregated community.), but I WAS there, and trust me, it's eerily similar.

And the TS Crew that Owen is referring to tore WG apart.
They were the people that backstabbed WG on our own raid even though they were in our clan, and to whom the TS rant was directed.
The HoR community is going that way now, and I am concerned. Very concerned.
