The Complete Idiot's Guide to Fixing Runescape

This is a video that asks the big questions about the three major updates for PKing this year:

    The Wilderness Revitalisation (07)
    The New EoC Beta (RS3)
    Combat Legacy (RS3)

Are they good and will they work?
Are they enough to get this game back on track?
Why aren't new players joining Runescape?

Some of us can't see us returning to Rs3 which is why we still play oldschool.

Might be very dictatorish of me to suggest that the choice shouldn't exist in the first place, for the sake of the game's future, which is more important than any individual.

Watched the whole thing, and you are so right about keeping it simple and social.

I disagree though about the need to attract the next generation, because RS is a browser based game, it cannot compete with the latest gameplay and trying to is wasting its resources and confusing players.   In a couple years, the new players will get bored and jagex would have to keep reinventing the game to keep up with the latest games.  The second reason is that runescape is intended to be a long-term game, and so jagex need a reliable and steady source of income.   New generation players will join fast and quit fast, but more mature players will pay for membership for years even if they only play a little on weekends.

First person shooters were out when it was popular among old players.

And other mmos and plenty of competition. They can keep up if they do it right.

His response fails completely to take into account that the inception of 07scape ripped a lot of clans in twain...

Political correctness is the largest assault on free speech ever made. True respect of someone is to tell someone what you really think. People who want those who disagree with them to be punished and silenced so they can feel better about themselves and are free to impose their views on others, are asking for their rights to be removed.
