It's 1:20 AM and I just got back from a poker tournament and the weirdest shit just happened.

It was raining lightly outside when I walked back to my house.
I was about to go inside when I heard what sounded like a tapping noise.
I walked across the street to where it was coming from.

It turned out to be rainwater falling onto a sign above a nearby shop.
But it was very loud, and could possibly prevent people from sleeping.
So I walked up to this sign and said

SSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHH

And then THE RAIN STOPPED and it suddenly went quiet.
So I whispered "thank you" and started to walk away
When all of a sudden it started that tapping noise again

So I stopped in the middle of the road
And said

SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

And it stopped again.
And it did not make any more noise from then onwards.

I think I am a god of some kind.

It was 1:20am, your loud "SSSH" desensitised your ears so you could no longer hear the dripping until your hearing had become resensitised to the noise without your SSSH.

It's the same reason your ears don't ring in a nightclub until the music has stopped.
