An alliance is formed by two or more clans who formally or informally agree to support each other in various aspects of the game.

Traditionally, a formal alliance only requires the two or more participating clans to list one another as allies in writing (usually on a clan website or in a forum). An informal alliance can be established simply through the leadership of both clans mutually agreeing upon peace terms (clans are almost always initially hostile when they encounter one another in the Wilderness) and engaging in allied activities. These range from joint events such as PK trips, wars, and non-PvP events, to providing services such as ACing (Anti-Crashing) their ally's fights and taking part in intra-clan competitions.

The first alliance established by the Wilderness Guardians was with The Sabres in December 2003. Since then, WG has shared alliances with many different clans, and been a member of two syndicates comprised of multiple allied clans – The Federation and the Justice Alliance. As of July 2019, WG does not have any formal alliances. The last allies of WG were the members of the Justice Alliance (Red Blade Hunters and Vanguard) in May 2017.

The Death Monkeighs

22 April 2008 – 20 June 2010

The Death Monkeighs (TDM) is a clan founded on 20 November 2004. TDM was an existing ally of The British Elites and was offered an alliance with WG on 22 April 2008, following the first year of TBE and WG's successful alliance. TDM also took part in the 2008 Skill Olympics the year after TBE. The alliances with both clans were ended on 20 June 2010 for varying reasons. As of 2025, TDM is still an active clan in RuneScape 3.

Kentai Shadow/Retribution

January 2005 – August 2005

Kentai Shadow (KS) was a clan founded during or before 2004. KS was an ARPK clan inducted into The Federation, and allied with WG, The Sabres, and The Synergy. Not much is known about the details of the alliance. KS changed their name to Retribution in August 2005^{[citation needed]}. Further details regarding the alliance and its ending are unknown, and no other surviving records of KS/Retribution have been found.

Legends Legion

3 January 2005 – ?

Legends Legion (LL) was a clan founded in August 2004. Similar to Fear, LL formed an alliance with WG and took an opposing stance to the Rune Outlaws in early 2005. LL also took part in WG's 2004 Anniversary, and WG later fought with them against Rivendell on 16 January 2005, in what was alleged to be the largest clan war in history at the time (filling an entire world to the limit of 2,000 players). This was the final mention of LL in WG's history, and further details regarding the alliance and its ending are unknown. No other surviving records of LL have been found.

The Order

August 2004 – December 2004

The Order (TO) was a clan founded during or before 2004. TO was added briefly to the list of WG's allies between August and December 2004, with some successful allied events being held. TO closed in early December, and their former second-in-command Dboy23 subsequently joined WG.

Poison

6 June 2013 – ?

Poison was a clan founded in 2009. Poison was similarly sized to WG and had provided many clean and respectable fights, particularly in the early days of Old-School RuneScape. However at least two of these fights were interfered with by Critical Damage, including WG's first war in Old-School RuneScape. In June 2013 Poison entered a crashwar (an intense form of rivalry) against CD. WG leadership considered joining the dispute which involved an alliance to Poison, but the proposal was met with a negative response from the rest of the clan. Plans for involvement in the crashwar were not executed, and the alliance was short-lived. Poison closed on or around 17 May 2017.

Reckoning Day

Mid 2006

Reckoning Day (RD) was a clan founded in 2006. Following the severing of WG's alliance to Fear, RD proposed an alliance to WG which was accepted. However the relationship was short-lived as RD closed within a few weeks. An attempt at restarting RD was made in 2008, though the last record of the clan's activity was on 30 March 2009 and RD is presumed to have closed around this time.

September 2016 – May 2017

Red Blade Hunters (RBH) is a clan founded in 2004 or early 2005, and notable for being considered Vio's first clan. Despite some hostilities in distant history, RBH joined the Justice Alliance in September 2016 and took part in several successful events with WG including some wars. The alliance was terminated when Justice disbanded in May 2017. As of 2020, RBH is still an active clan in Old-School RuneScape.

The Rising; New Blood**

September 2016

The Rising (TR) is a clan founded in July 2007. TR and its junior clan New Blood (NB) became allies of WG by way of the Justice Alliance. Though TR and NB took part in discussions during the foundation of Justice, neither really responded afterwards and the alliance was short-lived. Despite having closed and reopened at least once, as of 2020 TR is still an active clan in Old-School RuneScape.

The Royal Kingdom of Asgarnia*

2004 – 2005

The Royal Kingdom of Asgarnia (RKoA) was a clan founded on 18 September 2001. RKoA was another Federation clan offered an alliance by WG in the early days of WG history. Further details regarding the alliance and its ending are unknown, and no other surviving records of RKoA have been found.

The RuneScape Warriors

5 August 2004 – ?

The RuneScape Warriors (RW) was a clan founded during or before 2004. Record exists of an alliance being established between WG and RW on August 5 2004^{[citation needed]}. Further details regarding the alliance and its ending are unknown, and no other surviving records of RW have been found.

RuneScape Scorpions

~September 2004 – ~2006

The RuneScape Scorpions (RSS, also known as The Scorpions) was a clan founded in 2001 as "RsPlayers". WG attracted RSS's attention during the S7 era, and RSS leader Lady Naomi offered an alliance which was accepted. Several allied events including PK Trips were held, though these were often considered relatively unsuccessful. Further details regarding the ending of the alliance are unknown - in June 2010, a RSS member visiting the WG forums said that the alliance had ended before the closure of Fear in July 2006, in part due to WG's alliance with Fear (whom RSS were unfriendly with). RSS was still in existence at the time of the 2010 post, though they had declined considerably in terms of activity by then.

Ryu Saikoken'i

2004

Ryu Saikoken'i (RS) was a clan founded in 2004. RS was a Japanese-based ARPK clan, and RS and WG listed each other as allies during 2004. Details regarding the ending of the alliance are unknown, though the last update to RS's website was on 26 May 2004.

The Sabres*

9 December 2003 – 2004, 2005–2006, 10 November 2009 – 2012–2013

The Sabres (TS, also known as The Sabre Clan) was a clan founded in 1999. TS was considered the oldest clan in RuneScape, and shared the founding principle of ARPK with WG. TS became WG's first allies only 3 days after WG's inception and would become one of WG's closest relations over the course of their history. In total three separate alliances were established between WG and TS over a period of ten years, the last and arguably most successful of which was negotiated in November 2009. Though TS did not officially close, it diminished into inactivity within RuneScape over the course of 2012 and 2013. Two former leaders of TS, Sabre Chilli and Ganja Sabre later applied and were accepted into WG.

Sleeping Dragons*†

Sleeping Dragons (SD) was a clan founded in early 2005. SD was another exodus of The Synergy and helped reform The Federation in 2005. While His Lordship has commented that SD was the only clan which "could be taken seriously" out of minor clans involved in the Federation, no record of the alliance is mentioned in WG's history.

Main article: The Synergy

The Synergy (Syn) was an exodus of WG formed by Eragon Cd in 2004. Shortly after opening, a rivalry began between WG and Syn, and hostilities lasted for around four or five months. Eventually, Eragon Cd and His Lordship worked out a peace treaty and an alliance. Syn also took part in WG's first Anniversary. In late 2004/early 2005 several exodi broke off from Syn including the Death Jesters and Sleeping Dragons, though Syn survived the breakup. Syn also helped restart The Federation in mid-2005, and even after WG left the Federation they retained their alliance with Syn. Details regarding the termination of the alliance are unknown. Syn closed on 24 April 2008.

Vanguard**

September 2016 – May 2017

Vanguard (VNG) is a clan founded during or before 2016. VNG was similar to WG in terms of PvP status and considered one of the few surviving clans which retained a strict code of Honour. After a few successful allied events, WG and VNG established the Justice Alliance in late 2016. Despite a few minor issues in regards to members switching between clans, the alliance was overall a success for its lifespan but was broken along with the disbanding of Justice in early 2017. As of 2020, VNG is still an active clan within Old-School RuneScape.

Zero Tolerance

22 May 2009 – 24 October 2010

Zero Tolerance (ZT) is a clan formed in early 2009. ZT was an exodus of 3v0lution_X formed by Torreoria. His Lordship was aware of 3v0's issues and supported Torreoria, resulting in the ZT warlord offering an alliance on 30 April 2009. The offer was officially accepted on 22 May. The alliance lasted for over a year and was considerably successful, with ZT taking part in frequent allied PK trips, but was ended in late 2010 due to a broadening rift between the clans. ZT was active in Old-School RuneScape up until at least 2020.
