An exodus is an event where a significant number of members leave a RuneScape clan and subsequently form a clan of their own. The Wilderness Guardians has created several exodi over the course of its history, and several of these clans have created exodi of their own. Relationships with exodi vary - some have become allies and others rivals.
The first recorded use of the term "exodus" to describe a mass-leave and the founding of a new clan was on 30 December 2004, when a large amount of members resigned from WG following a public post by His Lordship critical of the U.S.A. - resulting in the founding of The Revolution.[1] While the phrase mass-leave is more commonly used to describe the departure of a large number of players within a considerably short timeframe, the term "exodus" specifically refers to a new clan created by all or the majority of the leaving members (also called a breakaway clan); when the group of players joins a pre-existing clan or go their separate ways, it is simply referred to as a "mass-leave".
As follows is a list of all the clans which share WG as a common ancestor. The first and most successful exodus in terms of in-game strength was The Synergy (ranked #24 in 2006), while the longest-surviving is Oak Island Pirates (19 years as of 2025). The most recent exodus was Nothing Left (founded in 2019).
First Generation
