- This page is about the 2004 and 2005 awards. For all of the awards and ceremonies hosted by the clan, see Awards.
Medals were the first awards offered by the Wilderness Guardians to clan members in 2004 and 2005. The medals came in the form of graphics made for the recipients' forum signatures. Medals were superseded by the Hall of Fame in 2005.
Medals were first announced on 11 December 2004[1] on the S4 Forums, and were intended to remain rare and prestigious awards with only one or two being issued per month. The graphics were produced by His Lordship in Flash, and most featured his real-life signature. The rectangular colours at the bottom are believed to represent real-world medal ribbons. The purpose of the medals was to recognise exceptional hard work and contributions to the clan, and had various titles - some are obvious, such as "Persistant[sic] Attendance" and "Forum Contribution" recognising event and forum activity respectfully; though others such as "Outstanding Service" are more ambiguous. Members of the Month also received medals (as "Member for [Month]"). All of the recipients were hand-picked by His Lordship, though a single "veteran" medal was made available to previous members of the AvidGamers website.
A total of 20 medals are known to have been awarded - 19 individual medals (17 of which the graphics have survived), and the "veteran" medal. Medals for Tequilajade and Terakaern were awarded[2], but no copies of the graphics survive. The 18 surviving medals in alphabetical order of the recipient are as follows.
