A screenshot of the S7 forums as they appeared on 25 June 2005

The S7 forums were the first set of Invisionfree forums used by the Wilderness Guardians, from April to July of 2004. Only a handful of snapshots of the S7 forums exist on the Internet Archive, and can be accessed here - though in all snapshots the forum is closed to guests, and there is nothing of interest to be seen.

At Rick Hamm's suggestion, WG chose to switch from their AvidGamers website and forums combination to a dedicated forum in April of 2004. An historical timeline of events suggests the switch occurred on the 17th[1], but a website newspost records the transition beginning on the 27th.[2]

With no content archived, little is known about the S7 forums. According to WG's 2004 Synopsis, major events during the "S7 days" included:

  • The first bans occurring - Falco307 and his accomplice Jedi Rin were removed for bribery and attempted mutiny
  • The formation of the exodus The Synergy and the beginning of a rivalry between Syn and WG
  • The release of an updated FrontPage website
  • The first requirements of 60+ combat being set

After only a few months of use, another forum switch was authorised in July of 2004 to the S4 forums - the written history suggests that this was due to S7 being poorly kept, inactive members, and spam - while historical accounts suggest it was an attempt at eradicating spies. Again, the historical timeline and newspost archives differ on whether the switch occurred on the 20th[3] or 30th.[4]
