A PKRI (Player Killing Run-In) is a PvP event in Old School RuneScape, and a variation of the traditional war in which two or more clans fighting against each other. When players are killed in a PKRI, they are expected to re-gear, return, and continue fighting - often "returning" multiple times for the entire duration of the fight. PKRIs are held in either the Wilderness or the Clan Wars arena - PKRIs in the latter are sometimes referred to as "CWRI"s.
Historically, "war" would refer to a knock-out fight in which players did not return, and in the early years of RuneScape, returning was considered dishonourable - though as PKRIs with returning became more frequent throughout the game's history, the concept of the run-in was incorporated into warring.[1] A win/victory in a PKRI is achieved if the opposing clan(s) are "cleared" (they do not have enough players in the fight to continue) or have "ended" (their members are instructed to leave/cease returning). Time and kill caps are sometimes used as alternative methods to determine a victor. A draw is also a possible result - usually this occurs if both clans agree to end the fight before either is cleared or ends, or if another clan "crashes" the fight.
