<p>Alliances between clans have existed since their inception. Traditionally, a formal alliance only requires the two or more participating clans to list one another as allies in writing (usually on a clan website or in a forum). However, an informal alliance can be established simply through the leadership of both clans mutually agreeing upon peace terms (clans are almost always initially hostile when they encounter one another in the Wilderness), and engaging in allied activities. These range from joint events such as PK Trips, Wars and non-PvP events, to providing services such as ACing (Anti-Crashing) their allies' fights and taking part in intra-clan competitions.</p>

2 January 2012 - 13 November 2012

<p>Given the similarity between BK and WG in terms of the two clans' ages (BK was an exceptionally long-standing clan), size and values (Honour in particular), an alliance was negotiated by Vio and Rosstitution in January 2012. BK joined The Sabres and DG on WG's allied raids, and the two clans fought several battles together under the moniker BlackGuardians. Though the legitimacy of the alliance was questioned on occasion with some members leaving WG to join BK, it was overall considered to be positive and beneficial. In November 2012, BK converted from a clan to a team when they began to struggle with membership and activity as a result of the then-upcoming Evolution of Combat. While the alliance between BK and WG was never officially terminated, BK slowly faded into activity over the next few months, and it became redundant.</p>

Occasionally there have been attempts at alliances which either failed or did not last long enough to have any significant impact.
? - ~28 October 2007

<p>An alliance existed between WG and BoS up until October 2007, though no details of its inception can be established. A few videos of allied events exist, and comments on these suggest the alliance was overall positively-viewed by members of both clans. BoS also took part in the 2006 Skill Olympics. The alliance was terminated on or around October 28th 2007 for unknown reasons.</p>

<p>His Lordship offered an alliance to TBE in July 2007, given the two clans' similarities in their strong communities and similar levels of PvP. Several successful allied events including wars were held, and TBE participated in the 2009 Skill Olympics. <p>The Royal Kingdom of Asgarnia (RKoA) was an RSC and RS2 ARPK clan founded by Mordon on 18 September or November, which was accepted. When WG joined the Federation in December 2004, they offered RKoA an alliance along with the Knights of Death. WG's 2004 Synopsis states that the offer to KoD was not accepted, implying that RKoA did accept - however there are no further mentions of RKoA in WG's written history, and they were removed from WG's list of allies between October and December of 2004.</p>
<p>While CoD was also a member of The Federation, His Lordship was introduced to them directly by The Sabres leader Mortus Sabre, and His Lordship offered the clan an alliance. CoD would have been considered WG's most powerful ally, but a lack of communication prevented this as well as CoD's preference to non-PvP events. After a year of negligible activity, the alliance was terminated.</p>
+
<p>No other surviving records of RKoA have been found - their domain (asgarnia.com) and website/forums continue to exist as of 2025, though registration appears to be impossible and the clan is believed to have fallen into complete inactivity at an unknown point in time.<ref>The Royal Kingdom of Asgarnia. <p>Fear (sometimes referred to as FEAR) was a clan initially hostile to WG as a result of frequent run-ins in the Wilderness. After the events surrounding Write2brandy and the resulting feud with the Rune Outlaws, Fear offered WG their support and an alliance began. Fear took part in a steel war during WG's first Anniversary, and fought with WG against The' Clan in late 2005. Phobia, Fear's junior clan, was also allied to WG. The alliance was unexpectedly terminated by Fear after 18 months, owing to what is only described as "a number of complicated reasons". WG accepted the separation politely.</p>

WG and ally The Sabres fighting together against Noobs Incorporated, 6 December 2009

An alliance is a positive relationship between two or more RuneScape clans who formally or informally agree to support each other in various aspects of the game.

Traditionally, a formal alliance only requires the two or more participating clans to list one another as allies in writing (usually on a clan website or forum). An informal alliance can be established simply through the leadership of both clans mutually agreeing upon peace terms (clans are almost always initially aggressive when they encounter one another in the Wilderness). Allied clans may also engage in joint activities such as PK trips, wars, and non-PvP events such as inter-clan competitions. Allies may also provide services such as ACing (Anti-Crashing) their ally's fights.

The first alliance established by the Wilderness Guardians was with The Sabres in 2003. Since then, WG has shared alliances with many different clans, and been a member of two syndicates comprised of multiple allied clans – The Federation and the Justice Alliance. At present, WG does not have any formal alliances. The last allies of WG were the members of the Justice Alliance (Red Blade Hunters and Vanguard) in 2017.

Minor and Failed Alliances

Occasionally there have been attempts at alliances which either failed or did not last long enough to have any significant impact.

2004

The Royal Kingdom of Asgarnia (RKoA) was an RSC and RS2 ARPK clan founded by Mordon on 18 September or November[2] 2001.

RKoA is believed to have been offered an invited to the Federation by Mortus Sabre on or around 20 November 2003[3], which was accepted. When WG joined the Federation in December 2004, they offered RKoA an alliance along with the Knights of Death. WG's 2004 Synopsis states that the offer to KoD was not accepted, implying that RKoA did accept - however there are no further mentions of RKoA in WG's written history, and they were removed from WG's list of allies between October and December of 2004.[4]

No other surviving records of RKoA have been found - their domain (asgarnia.com) and website/forums continue to exist as of 2025, though registration appears to be impossible and the clan is believed to have fallen into complete inactivity at an unknown point in time.[5]

Ryu Saikoken'i (RS, also known as the RS Knights), was a RuneScape 2 ARPK clan founded by Wizard 46[6] during or before 2004.

RS had an existing alliance with The Sabres, and RS and WG listed each other as allies on their websites in 2004 - the earliest archive of WG's website has them listed in May.[7] However, there are no mentions of RS on the S4 forums or in the written history, or evidence of any allied events. They were removed from WG's list of allies sometime between September and October 2004.[8]

The last update to RS's website was on 26 May 2004 and they are presumed to have fallen into inactivity around this time.[9]

GhostKnights (GK) was a RuneScape 2 Anti-PK clan founded by Lordkruk and D Distroyer during or before 2004.[10]

GK held alliances with The Titans and The Synergy[11], and WG formed an alliance with them around August 2004. This lasted for around 5 months, though there is little evidence of any actual events and its productivity was often questioned.[12] However, D-Distroyer was fairly active on WG's forums and attended several PK trips.[13] He resigned from GK on 31 January 2005 for personal reasons, and reported to WG that Lordkruk wished to end GK's alliances with WG and Syn at the same time.[14]

Just a few days later, GK was reported to have closed on or around 4 February 2005.[15] D Distroyer subsequently applied for and was accepted into WG.[16]

The RS Warriors

5 August 2004 – ?

A news announcement was made on WG's website that an alliance had been established between WG and a clan referred to as "the RS Warriors" on 5 August 2004.[17] However, no such clan appears on WG's list of allies on an archived copy dated 30 August 2004[18], and no references to "RS Warriors" have been found on the S4 forums or in WG's written history. It is possible that "RS" could refer to Ryu Saikoken'i who also called themselves the "RS Knights" - however the alliance with RS is believed to have started during or before May of 2004.

Reckoning Day (RD) was a RuneScape 2 clan founded by Shakarak on or around 28 January 2006.[19]

According to WG's written history, following the ending of WG's alliance to Fear, RD proposed an alliance to WG which was accepted. However the relationship was short-lived as RD closed within a few weeks.

RD re-opened on 1 January 2007[20] and appeared to remain stable and active for around 1 year and 7 months, until closing permanently at some point between 14 July and 6 August 2009.[21] No archives exist of their closing topic, and the reasons for their closure are unknown.

Poison was an RS2 and OSRS clan founded by Venomous76 in September 2009.[22]

By 2013, Poison had provided WG with many clean and respectable fights over the years, particularly in the early days of Old-School RuneScape - however, at least two of these fights were interfered with by Critical Damage, including WG's first war in OSRS. Plans for involvement in the crashwar were not executed, and the alliance was short-lived.[23]

Poison closed as a clan on 17 May 2017, though remained active as a community afterwards.[24]

The Rising (TR) was an RS2 and OSRS clan founded by Des Troyer on 30 July 2007.[25]

TR and its junior clan New Blood (NB) would have become allies of WG through the Justice Alliance. Though TR and NB took part in discussions during the foundation of Justice, neither really responded afterwards and the alliance was short-lived.

TR closed and reopened at least once in 2020[26][27], and the clan is believed to have fallen into inactivity around 2022, with their last recorded event taking place in March 2023 (a war against Valhalla, which TR won).[28]
