I would say it's admitting that different people like different types of game. Again this seems very similar to RS3 vs OSRS. There are still people who like RS3 so Jagex has decided to update both games to cater for different play styles and preferences.

I’ve never played WoW but are they not doing what OSRS does and giving it fresh updates? This is what keeps OSRS alive.

Definitely looks like an interesting event but probably not going personally. Always fun to watch the streams.
