meekstah got a reaction from Whitemamb in Progression and improving (mostly motivational)
Preface: I joined Wg a month or two after starting osrs, and I was a noob who hoped to do barrows and vorkath. I saw this as something unattainable at the time, and saw things such as raiding and inferno as something I could never even attempt.
Since then, ive been attempting the inferno, sending raids, and even achieving a 500 fang kit, which I couldnt even dream of back then.
How was I able to go from noob to less noob? Having fun and challenging myself. Setting a goal and slowly chipping away at the goal, and enjoying it while you do. Ive died several times and failed many times, and I can say its all mental. Put yourself in uncomfortable positions, die, die again, and you will learn to die less and improve. Watching videos, learning from our wonderful PvM mentors, and being active. These are all things I did daily to eventually get to where I am. Again, its attainable for everyone and anyone, and hope this gives motivations to those who think "Ill never be good enough". You will, it takes time and effort. A big issue also comes with the broke mans mindset. I fell prey to this too. It is worth to spend gp to progress your account and improve your efficiency. Saying you dont want to learn a method because "its too hard" or "im too lazy" adds to never improving. You have to challenge yourself. Sure you can afk, but if you want to improve you cant approach a method that seems intimidating because "ill never be able to do it"
If you feel like you need a sense of direction on how to progress, PM me, WG is home to some of the best people that want to see you improve.

Been trying to afk as much as possible while studying to try and inch closer to max, and doing clues/bossing/raids when i have time to. Notably got a piece of 3rd age from an elite, ranger boots, and cave kraken pet. Gonna post my fiancé's progress as well (In pink) as she has decided to play with me ! She's roughly 20 days into the game.

You did all of that in 90 days playtime, in less than half a year? I am impressed man, congratulations on the progress!

Another month and more progress. Sat down and learned zulrah. Also learned some CG. Hopefully I'll be 99 def by the next time I post, but what should I go for next? QPC? Another 99? We'll see how i feel.

A lot of people fear/dislike skilling.
Just enjoy the grind when you get to it. By that, I mean enjoy the less active gameplay and the dichotomy it can bring to the game!

2 weeks later, I've done DS2 and grinded some CB. I've been focused on getting max CB and currently on a really enjoyable Vorkath grind! Thanks @MYL for the alchs and vorkath gear! My next goal is to get gear and levels to learn CoX properly.

I started playing RS roughly 30-35 days ago, and I've been having a blast. Everyone here has been so helpful, and I just wanted to share where my account currently stands with a month of gaming. I've been on and off with questing, skilling, and money making. Hopefully when I update this next month I'll have all the quests done. Really excited to learn and start slaying Vorkath, so hopefully I get through all this skilling. I've attached notable bosses I've killed and drops I've gotten.

meekstah got a reaction from K1W1 in What skills would you get XP in at your job if it was in Runescape
Probably nothing since theres no real skill that lines up with what I do. I would get crafting xp from a new hobby of knitting.

I started playing roughly 2 weeks ago due to a good friend in the clan named Myl. I have little to no experience playing OSRS, and I mainly watched my cousin play RS growing up. Currently have been focused on just enjoying the game.
Tell us about your clan history.
I have no clan history as I've never played the game as serious as I have now.
Tell us about your yourself.
I am a student majoring in CIS and enjoy playing FPS games since 2011. I love MMO's, and played WoW private servers for years.
How did you hear about us? Myl
What makes you want to join us? I want to be a part of a clan, and having a good mate in the clan who recommended made me want to join.
Do you agree to the rules and requirements of WG and understand that this is an honour clan? Yes
