  1. Please join our Discord server and read the #joining_wg channel to see the final step in the process. Adult Cat What is your current RS name? Adult Cat List any previous RS names: - What is your total level and combat level? 1917 - total level. 107 - combat. Tell us about your RuneScape account and history. My runescape account is build as med (75 att/99 str ((not yet))/ 75 def) for pking. But PvP sucks rn, so I'm just wasting time in-game like most of you. Tell us about your clan history. Well. I was in Wilderness Guardians clan once... For 2 years+. Loved that clan & still love it. I joined this clan when it was dead clan with 5 members. But these 5 members were - all for me. When I quitted WG 2 year later, I joined many clans (over 50+). Got banned from most of them (since I'm not american - no other reason). I don't want to list all the clans I went into. You can see them on the frist-second-third etc page in osrs forums. Tell us about your yourself. I'm russian alcoholic. Married (sadly) ^^' How did you hear about us? Forums, I guess What makes you want to join us? I was in this clan before. I got a lot of friends here. Do you agree to the rules and requirements of WG and understand that this is an honour clan? Yes Come clean about anything that may deter us from accepting you: I was in this clan before. And I had problems with Mojo. If he will ever become a leader again, I will quit. Unless we talk with him.

  2. So basically, this means that you can retire and live off your savings and investments. I discovered this thing while browsing the internet and now I have decided to dedicate my 20s and early 30s to chase this dream. What financial independence means is that once you have enough money saved up, you can retire early and enjoy your life without working a single day again. How is it calculated? Assuming you will live till 85, take that minus the age you plan to retire, multiply that by the cost of living. EX, if I am currently 23, and I spend 40k USD per year, and I plan to retire at 35, I need to save 2m USD. Obviously this is not realistic for most people. But it's not impossible. In fact you don't need to make 2m at all. If you are a college graduate and make 60k+ a year and invest 20k a year. According to S&P 500's performance averaging 10-11% growth annually. You will have 1.15m to 1.3m USD in 20 years. And over 2m in 25 years. Also, some stocks pays dividends. Enough investing into stocks that yield dividends can last you a life time. Assuming you put 1m into a stock that pays 5% dividend, that means every year you will receive 50k cash. PS, if you know a foreign language and can move to a lesser developed country. You can retire earlier and still live like a king. I'm chinese, and I plan to move back to China once I invested enough. 500k investment with 5% dividend yield 25k USD per year, convert that to Yuan is 162k yuan per year which is upper class life outside mega cities. Let me know your thoughts on this. If there is any financial experts in this clan, I could use some professional insights.

  3. Pretty hyped to be with WG for 2 whole years starting on Monday, and I would say that the clan changed just as much as I have. When I first joined I was a level 60, and now I'm 2.1k total level with Quest cape (and 1 task off diary cape why does slayer do me like that). I just wanted to take this time to say a huge thank you to the friends I've made along the way. I'll go in alphabetical order to not choose favorites, but I'll start with everyone currently on the Officer squad and staff team. I'll group you all together to start out with, because you are all the most solid staff team I've ever seen in WG. When I first joined there was a huge clique culture, and even though as members each member of staff was approachable, the staff team now is a cohesive unit where you are all unique, loveable individuals. I'm not staff anymore, but I'm sure there is nothing but love behind the scenes. I know that when I was staff I'd get into some petty garbage with random members (Sorry Swifter, I still love you.), but I literally haven't seen any drama since I've came back. Just a reminder, if I don't mention you by name, then I probably glanced over you on the memberlist. I love all of WG, there isn't a single member I don't get along with and we've been fantastic at vetting good members with our community. I know when I first joined, I commended Slump and Mojo for having such a positive community that naturally gates away toxic people and brings more chill people to join. If you're chill, and you find WG, you'll probably stay because it's chill. @Crazyooga You're someone that I feel like I never see enough, in the best way possible. I'm always excited to see your name at events, even when you first joined. We have what feels to be opposite schedules and it makes it just that much more exciting to see you at events, or even just chilling in the CC. @Dad TBd Mum You always push me to be better at PKing. When I'm with you, I know there's someone there that understands me and I can rely completely on. I feel like we have a blush of fun competition. Or maybe it's just me being nervous when we're PKing together, and I have to prove that I can be as good as you are. @Hatred Sabre still sane, exile? BBQ, I remember when I first joined and I annoyed the everliving fuck out of you. You might not remember it at this point, and at this point we might joke about noobs who can't listen to callers, but I can always remember when I was that noob that couldn't listen to callers. You taught me so much about the very basics of this game, and every time I right click my glory, I can hear your beautiful voice ask "Why tele to Edgeville? Why not glorious Draynor Village?". Even more than just teaching me about the game, you taught me how to interact properly outside of the game. If I was dipping into drama, you would pull me out, and keep my head straight. If I'm feeling down, I know you'll be there to bring me back up. @Jansen I feel absolutely blessed to have recruited you. I remember you being a f2p noob and I offered you a bond if you joined WG, but you didn't just join WG, you're an honoured guardian and I couldn't be more proud. You are the absolute highlight of how much people can grow in this clan and what this clan has to offer. @jensen272 I mentioned rivals before, and when I was more new and much more active I always stared at your hiscores page to see if I can keep up with you. Seeing you nowadays really highlights how much we've both have grown, and you're just an absolute blast to check up on. You're positive, you're motivated, and you share that with me when I see you. @FinalELITE I've mentioned people that I feel like I don't talk to enough, and I couldn't leave you out of the conversation. Everytime I see you, I get excited, because I know you're going to make whatever event I'm in that much more enjoyable. I love seeing you in game, in the discord, anywhere. @LGBTQHCIMBTW Dom, you're like, a better me. We hit Eventmaster at the same time and you showed me up with every event. You were more creative, you're a better PVMer than I am, and I'm proud to see someone who is better than me in each of my best facets. You even put the fire cape on my pure. @Lunars_Iron You're an absolute blast to be around, and I love your presence in the CC. You're a total staple of the community, even when you're inactive. You make everyone remember that WG is a permanent home. @Wg Luk1n You inspired me to push for staff. And when I got on the team, you were there showing me every rope (until you stepped down.) It's really strange not being in 12 of your events per week, it feels like it was only yesterday. @WG Maiar I've mentioned amazing PKers before, and you're yet another highlight. You joined shortly after me, and I felt like every time I went out to the wilderness you were there with me. @Mask You inspired me every single day we were both online together, and I'm so happy to have you back. I know being #freetotrick is the exact opposite of WG's values, but I was one of the people that turned around and supported you when left temporarily because I would have literally done anything to keep you as a member of the community. You really inspire me so much, that I still shout "LOOOOOT LOOTLOOTLOOTLOOT" every time I get a good drop, or if I'm world hopping, there's always a slight mimicry of your clean, clear worldhops @Pentomix You're a more recent addition to the clan but you definitely push every pillar of the WG community. You're another one of those people that I get excited to see online because I know you're going to make everything much more fun. @Queen Cersei You're an absolute delight to banter with and I loved every single time you confused me for Gore, at some point I wasn't sure if it was a running bit and you knew who I was. Either way, you're extremely sincere and open, and I love that so much about you. @Slumptality I feel like you've always had my back, even when I was in the wrong, you would look and see where I was coming from. You were a huge inspiration to me when I first joined the clan and you're still an inspiration to me now. Thanks for the Fighter Torso. @Yasticaki You are a wonderful mentor, even when I think I'm an expert at something you're out here teaching me something new, and you are always out here helping out your fellow clanmates and friends. I would also like to take the time to mention a few former clanmates. Remember guys, no matter what clan you're in now, you at least inspired one person during your time in WG. @AAIGHT I know you're not going to read this, but you always made it clear when you didn't agree with something. More importantly, you left on your own accord, when you weren't happy with how the clan was going, but you respected every individual within it. @Adult Cat Similar to AAIGHT, you left WG only because you didn't agree with staff. I'll reiterate here that I'm more than okay with that, in fact, I'm happy that you're happier somewhere else. When you were here you helped introduce me to the rest of the WG community, and every time I see you on Reddit I shed a small tear remembering that you're always welcome back here. @At The Races I mentioned plenty of people that taught me how to PK, and god damn if you didn't teach some complete n00b how to PK. Looking back, I am amazed by your patience and whenever people ask me how to learn to PK I use you as a reference. @4474 Did we ever really get along? No. But that's fine, because you did your best to keep our disagreements as healthy as possible for the rest of the clan. I'm pretty sure you don't scape at all anymore, and I really hope you the best with whatever you're doing nowadays. @father4skin God what can't I say about you, besides "You like that?". Your humor is wonderful, and you're sort of the face of "Ex-WG member" in that you're insanely skilled, motivated, and always active in your community. You might not be in WG anymore, but you still act just how you did when you were in WG because you're such a genuine person. You're another PKer who pushed me to be better, and never let me stop. @WG Fargorn I'm mentioning people that taught me how to PK, and Fargorn, I was absolutely heartbroken when you left the clan. I'm proud that you really made Nothing Left your own, and even though you had bigger plans with the clan than what became of it, I'm sure wherever you're at in the wild now, you're as active and motivated as when you were telling me how to not run up onto someone without actually clicking teleblock first. I'll always feel a bit like a noob around you, and that's a good thing. @Hathor666 You have top notch banter and like many people on this list, a motivated and skillful PKer that doesn't mind showing other people your moves. Another former member that left due to disagreements with staff, and although WG is a bit too PG for you, I'm sure you're clapping cheeks wherever you are now. @Mojo You have done so much for me. This is my opportunity to gush more about the staff team in my first 2 years of WG, and you're the epitome of what the staff team was. You left the clan in the careful hands of Ghost and Neigh, but before then, you nurtured me in every step of my OSRS career. Every time I had a problem? You were there. Every time I fucked up? You were there. You trusted me oh so much more than I ever deserved, and you put that much trust into every single member of this clan. You know when people are good, and your Fortnite and Fall Guys content is all I need to see your happy face. You're such a genuine human being and I loved every single second of talking to you. You're an absolute sweetheart. I'm so happy you found something that makes you happy, and I will be absolutely amazed if in a year from now you're not an insanely successful streamer. You made this community what it is and built us up as individuals and as a clan after every hardship. @WG Wessoxx You're another member that I just can't believe is gone sometimes. You are another person that just absolutely personifies what it means to be WG. You're helpful to others, fun to be around, and I wouldn't be where I'm at now if it weren't for you protecting me at chaos altar until RoT rolled in. Keep doing what you're doing brother. @Vio You're another one of those amazing PKers that taught me how to PK. But more than that, you're an amazing member of the entire OSRS community, not just WG. I was a bit sad when you stopped producing your Podcast with His Lordship. You're a minister of propaganda and the (un)offical leader of the master guardians for a reason. Your personality is as big as your heart, and your banter is insane. I can't even say I miss you, because you still interact with the clan inside the public discord. Looking back now, WG is much of the same it always has been. The Wilderness Guardians help others, not just in game, not just with game advice, but as people. We're always there for eachother when we're feeling down. The Wilderness Guardians also has a great sense of humour, and a contagious motivation. I don't play Oldschool Runescape because I like OSRS, I play because I'm a member of The Wilderness Guardians. You guys are what makes the game fun for me, and you've made the game fun for me for the last two years. You've all been there for me, and as members come and go, the clan still stays the same. We're a fantastic community, and I'm so lucky to have every single one of you. Other clans are constantly trying to drag me over, but you know what? I wouldn't ever join another clan, because I'm not in the Wilderness Guardians for the events, or for the fat loot, or anything but seeing clanmates that I can genuinely call friends. The memberlist is always changing, but the community is always the same. Wilderness Guardians is the only clan you can be a part of and have random people walk up to you and say "Oh, you're in WG? I was in there back when X was leader or Y was active." and that random person being absolutely wholesome and kind because WG has such a lasting effect on people. There's a reason we're OSRS's oldest clan, and WG will last at least as long as OSRS itself.

  7. My girlfriend wants to do something similar (retire early and work part time). Involves something like moving out of Toronto and to a cheaper area like Nova Scotia or something I myself am not a financial expert. I'm happy to trudge along and 'work' (play osrs) and get paid every 2 weeks. We've just moved into a detached house last fall and although we still got a bit to go on our mortgage (under 400k CAD left) it's not like we have a ton of other expenses. Dunno! It's scary to think about retirement and stuff this early (I'm turning 30 this year) but apparently I should've started thinking about it like 5 years ago
