2009 was the sixth complete year of the Wilderness Guardians in RuneScape 2.
Summary
In January 2009, WG defeated Crimson Raiders for rank #10 on the RuneScape Community RAW list, but also ended up in hostilities with two top clans through RSC. As a result, the clan chose to withdraw from clan politics entirely. WG still kept mainly to CWA for their fights, but were also stepping out into PvP worlds for their PK trips. They also reformed an alliance with The Sabres, hosting several successful allied events. In December, a third real life meeting was held in Washington DC.

- February 8 - Gorgemaster was elected to the WG Council.[1]
- March 9 - Jagex Cup: WG enrolled in the Jagex-hosted Clan Cup tournament.
- May 9 - Back to Own and Darth Magul were elected to the WG Council.[2]
- August 23 - Skill Olympics: WG defeated The British Elites in 8 out of 14 skills.[3]
- August 26 - Back to Own stepped down from the WG Council to the rank of Raid Leader, and Arsenalfan32 took his place on the Council as a Warlord.[4]
- September 6 - The Guardian Power: His Lordship released WG's original clan song, composed and performed by himself.
- September 6 - Darkzero101 was elected to the WG Council.[5]
- December 11 - Rachellove9 and Stokenut were elected to the WG Council.[6]
- December 20 - Mumble: WG switched from TeamSpeak to a new VoIP program.
