2011 was the eighth complete year of the Wilderness Guardians in RuneScape 2.
Summary
2011 started with a minor exodus and a short rivalry with The Blade Keepers, along with free trade and PvP in the Wilderness returning to RuneScape as they were in 2007. WG got straight back into P2P PvP, hosting several successful wars and PK trips - and even a war with a Jagex-run clan. In June, a major clan event known as The Reckoning occurred, which included a forum switch and the re-opening of the junior clan Descendant Guardians under Vio's leadership. WG and DG began offering public anti-crash services to the clan world, resulting in a surge of activity and a helpful reputation boost.
Major Events
- January 21 - WG's 3rd recruitment video was released, presented by His Lordship.[1]
- February 12 - His Lordship announced "Tabula Rasa": all previous bans were revoked and warnings removed for all past and present WG members.[2]
- March 1 - WG began a rivalry with Vio's exodus clan The Blade Keepers.[3]
- March 13 - Randy and MegaJayson were promoted to the Council.[4]
- April 12 - Clan Chat: the "Wilderness Guardians" CC was set up by Randy upon the feature's release.[5]
- June 20 - The Reckoning: WG underwent several major changes including a switch to the SMF forums and the reopening of the Descendant Guardians.
- August 15 - Tales from Port Sarim: His Lordship released an original song and RSMV featuring WG for the 2011 Golden Gnome Awards.
- September 24 - Abs was elected to Advisor (formerly "Council").[6]
